i agree every time i look at my detolf and see snow speeder luke standing there i say to my self i`m so glad i got the chance to own this figure over a year ago. and next christmas holiday season it will be two years since i got him.

Great posing! I think you might toy with a different angle or hand option for Leia's left as my only suggestion.

I hope HT does one of these eventually. The SS offering is arguably one of their highlights and no slouch at all. Makes me wonder if they ponied up for a better production run, hence the price at the time. But I highly doubt SS will rerelease it anytime soon, so I have to bank on the next option. The 1/6 tinfoil hat wearer in me says that SS is waiting for the HT announcement so they can fast track a rerelease and try to steal some sales. But that seems too out there.

That seems like bad business... they would more likely loose sales compared to rereleasing him now.

Yeah, I would say this is still my #1 favorite fig I have out of somewhere around 90-100 figs.

I did do a ton of mods/additions on both of mine, but stock it's still very impressive.

I have two - one (Dagobah version) is mostly a custom creation (HT boots, custom "Muppet Show" style blaster,) the other has the jacket slimmed down, neck modded to look up more and has custom grenade and harpoon gun. Both figs have custom chestbox (a heavy mod of the Hasbro one)as I feel the SSC one is too small. I also removed the cold weather undergarment pants on both, as well as the padding suit.

I'm playing around with the new Luke HT head for the dago version. This has a heavily modded Snowspeeder hairpiece.

This is the Dagobah shot I was going for. It's just a promo shot, but it's as memorable for me as the ROTJ Luke windswept hair shot on the sail barge.

The unique "Muppet Show" pistol is seen briefly in this scene (and only this scene.) I'm still tweaking the pose - I think he's leaning over/ab-crunched a bit more than I have. Like the iconic Kenner Snowtrooper artwork pic, it's a pose that's surprisingly difficult to exactly match. I still haven't gotten up the courage to make the outfit look wet.

The image and pose really symbolizes Luke's ESB journey for me.

It's a lot of work, and wasn't 100% successful. It's tricky with this (the "Dumb and Dumber" look) as your starting point...

The HT hairpiece is the parted-at-the-side ROTJ style. ESB hair is more messy and longer. Luke must have gone to that barber on the medical frigate after he recovered.

Yeah that works really well... although it also makes clear that we still have a ways to go before we get a truly great ESB/ROTJ Luke sculpt. As nice as it is, the HT sculpt is just a bit too wide and not as gaunt looking as Hamill was in those movies.

There's something inherent in Hamill's face that I don't think any 1/6 sculpt has really captured - the kind of combo of slack-jawed goofiness and determination, and also that combination of softer teen-ish face and slightly chiseled gaunt look that evolved via ESB. Even beyond HF, MH really is almost impossible to capture especially in ANH and ESB, even if a few heads have kind of captured Hamill's "channel surfing on the sofa" blank face.

That's the one I used. Non helmet Snowspeeder hair on the HT ROTJ head/face.

FYI it's a b*tch to get off the head - I almost destroyed my hands trying to peel it off. Maybe I got the heavy-on-the-glue guy on the production line.

yes you did he must have been talking and gluing and did not pay attention to how much glue he put on there.

I found that Snowspeeder Luke at a great price for you but then you went and bought it from SSC with your points or something. I hope you get one with extra-extra glue.

i found mine at popcultrch that year i cant remember if i got him just before you found one for me or something. i might have to check out my sculpt and let you know the outcome.
