I don't think it should be a war full stop. If its a good movie , you have the ability to play it and its a good picture just watch it!!!.
Who cares what the hell kinda disc it is or what its playing on , just watch the damn movie !.

I didn't have any problem with the format war. I own both formats and didn't care who won.

Even though I already own a Blu Ray player, I'm not going to unload my HD DVD player. I spent $99 on the thing just before the holidays and the last time I checked it still plays wonderfully with the few HD DVD's that I own or my large assortment of standard DVD's (upconverted). I will never make anybody that owns a HD-DVD feel sorry that they bought it, because if I didn't already have a Blu Ray player...I'd be in the same boat.

My focus will simply be placed on adding a few more Blu Ray movies to my collection. I already have POTC: DMC & AWE, Cars, Ratatouille, The Game Plan, & Casino Royale. While I'm not going to replace every movie that I own on standard DVD and start another huge collection of movies, I'm just going to bide my time and buy what Blu Rays I like.

    exactly ...
when im on xbox live I hate how when someone mentions the ps3 massive arguments start that the xbox is better. There both great consoles and like blu ray and hd dvd for some reason are in a so called "war".
Just because someone can't afford both they slag the other off.
I don't own either of them to be honest but I do own a 360.
I will be getting a ps3 for metal gear solid so hopefully blu ray will be as good as everyone says it is.

Well said... and my EXACT feelings on this matter. I have mostly regular DVD's and a few HD DVD's. I haven't gotten a Blu Ray player yet, but was planning on it. Now at least I don't have to decide which disc to get, I can just get Blu Ray and be done with it.
