Uh... Where's Indy?

The only clear winners in this group are the Thuggee figs, lead of course by Mola Ram.

Yay Mola Ram and Short round, buy boo no Indy. Why not an Indy instead of that peg warmer Thugee swordsman?

For army builders, I guess...?

Hmmm...maybe we will see sleeveless Indy in a deluxe pack? One can only hope... :o

Mola owns this wave.

Looks like a good wave....

My only issue with 'em is...the characters with the plastic robes/skirts have a hard time standing unassisted and have real limited posing ability (but at least the sculpts are good for this scale).

I think my favorite here is the Pat Roach Thugee...looks like a lot of articulation and great detail...

...and isn't the Indy in this wave supposed to have the torn shirt and machete?

Yes, Hasbro said in one of the latest Q&As that he'll be in there. Just not in this pic for some reason. I hope they show it at SDCC. They will probably also unveil Waves 5 & 6 there, including Toht. :rock

The Indy isn't pictured, but there will be one. When pictures were first shown of the Last Crusade wave, Indy wasn't there either. He'll be shown soon enough.

Personally, I'd rather have an Indy in White Tux figure as well instead of Willie.

The Josh

I'll get short round and Mola Ram.

Willie doesn't look bad--and Short Round's torch is admittedly huge.

There'll be some Club ObiWan figures in 2009, Hasbro said in a recent Q&A, probably including Tux Indy, Red dress Willie and Lao Che.

There will certainly be an Indy in the wave. I think it was confirmed to be ripped shirt. I'll be picking up most of these for sure. I may skip the generic thugee. Mola Ram looks bad-ass.

They all look great. I think this is the first wave I'll be buying the whole set.
A TOD Indy has to be coming, either they forgot to picture him or he's in a deluxe set.

He's in this wave. There will be 6 figures and the other is Indy with the ripped shirt and machete.

NICE! I sooooo can't wait for these. I'm tempted to buy a case so i'm guaranteed 1 of each but I don't want to be stuck with the extras... Now to track down the Sankara Stones. Which Indy figure did those come with?

IrishJedi
06-26-2008, 02:39 PM
I love the relic that the Indy figure comes with:

The 1/4 Sankara Stone comes with the Single carded German Soldier figure.

I already pre-ordered this wave online. After the wave 3 Mutts and rocket launcher Indys continue to clog the pegs with all the other stuff that's not selling these are going to be impossible to find in stores.

There's supposedly going to be a Club Obi Wan theme for the 2009 ToD wave, so I think there's a good chance we'll see him.

If they're smart, they'll pack a Sankara with 3 of the figures (Indy, Mola Ram, Thuggee). That way you could get the whole set.

The Josh

I ordered the ToD figs from BBTS when they first went up for $69.99, but that's still obscene. I can't believe they jacked up the price yet another $5 from that. :monkey4

That figure and the 2 Mutts are the black plague of this line. I swear Hasbro must've thought Mutt was going to be the second coming.

I just don't understand why companies like Hasbro or Mattel have this ridiculous case ratios. It doesn't make any sense, why would you want to clog the pegs with figures nobody wants??? Just a waste of money, plastic and space.

The only Mutt I'm interested is the one with the bike, and that is in hopes they release a suit Indy, to ride in the back with him.

Do you guys think the Hasbro Inly line will last beyond 2009?

Odowankenobi
07-03-2008, 10:38 PM
Probably not.

1. Indy doesn't have nearly the huge mainstream appeal that Star Wars does
2. Indy does not have tons of background aliens to keep action figure lines going

Shy of releasing an insane amount of variants, this line really only has 4 or 5 more waves in it before it's done.

I doubt it. The hype and resurgence in Indy's popularity that the lead up to KOTCS's release brought with it has died down and pretty much returned to what it was before. We'll probably see one more wave for each movie and then done.
