Ok, in discussion of the other thread it seemed most logical to set it up in poll form to find out what is everyone's favoirte Bond film. Since the poll lengths would not allow all 21 (or 22) films to be included, I decided to break in down by each actor that had more than one film (currently) and then a final poll will take each of the multiple film Bond winners and pit them against Lazenby and Craig. It seems suiting to start with the first real Bond, Sean Connery.

Dr. No
From Russia With Love
Goldfinger
Thunderball
You Only Live Twice
Diamonds Are Forever
Never Say Never Again (I know it is not an official one and is basically a Thunderball remake, but I still count it as a real Bond since Connery was the Bond in the film)

Edit: Please Excuse my Typo on the actual Poll. It shoudl read Goldfinger and not Goldfiner. :lol I tried to edit it but it won't let me. I'll probably add Moore tomorrow and the final poll by the weekend or next week to give the polls some time to get a definate winner in each.

Goldfinger is going to win by a mile, but I still prefer From Russia With Love. Just barely, but it's my favorite of the Connery Bond films.

Hey, that is what the poll is for. Not everyone is going to vote the same right. Besides, if Goldfinger is so great why wasn't it made into a video game last year? :D From Russia with Love is probably a very close second for most people I imagine.

Having read all of the books, my favorite films in the series tend to be the ones that stick closest to the character as Fleming wrote him. From Russia With Love and Casino Royale and OHMSS probably do the best with the literary character of Bond. Getting to hear some actual verbatim quotes of Fleming's dialogue in Casino Royale was a lot of fun. That hasn't happened in a long time.

The first 5 Connery movies were all really great, and very easy to differentiate. When I was little I used to divide them up as the "underwater" one, the "space" one, the one on the "train", etc. "Diamonds" was silly, although when I was really young I looked forward to it on TV. Any Bond was good Bond back then. "Never" should have never.

Somewhere after "Moonraker" the Bond movies all kind of blurred together for me...and the Dalton and Brosnan ones are almost impossible for me to remember which is which. At least the new Craig will be easy... its the "card playing" one.

If even one person votes for "Diamonds" in this poll, I will throw up in my mouth. How the heck did Sean Connery end up in a Roger Moore Bond film?

I did like the Jimmy Dean as Howard Hughes character in diamonds though, what was his name Willard White? yeah, Willard White...

and don't forget Plenty O'toole played by Lana Wood, Natalie Wood's sister

Unfortunately, I think it was Connery's 'Diamonds' that set Roger up for the 'jokey' Bonds that followed. And more unfortunately, Roger went along with it all too happily.

If I hadn't already voted for "Goldfiner" I would be tempted to do it just for fun :rotfl I think if anyone votes for Never Say Never Again, then you should throw up.

Yep, that was the absolute worst of the SC Bond films IMO...

I agree, although the video game fight was kinda cool. Not sure what Connery was thinking when he did that. However, like I said in the first post, because he was the Bond in that film is the only reason I consider it a "real" Bond. Didn't MGM buy it though just recently (like in the last 10 years)?

He was thinking about the 3 million they were paying him -- a record at the time.

The previous earth-shattering record before that -- when he became the first actor to ever earn 1 million... for "Diamonds".

Now that I think about it, its all Connery's fault that actors salaries have skyrocketed over the last 3 decades.

Slade's got it right! From Russia With Love baby!
Bada$$ all the way! Great villains and Bondgirl too!

I agree about Diamonds. Worst of Connery's except for some aspects of Never say Never, which kind of bores me. Diamonds is just too silly.
But you know, Live and Let Die, which was next, is a much better movie at least. To me anyway.

FRWL because I think it is one of the better serious Bond movies. I can't think of anything ridiculous or silly in it off the top of my head. The briefcase makes an awesome gadget. Plus it follows the book nicely as I recall.

Have to agree with Les on this one... From Russia With Love was Connery at his best IMO... and again I love that it was similiar to the book.. Just had a depth that many Bond adventures afterwards would be lacking. Goldfinger was great too, as was Thunderball... but FRWT takes the cake!!

Awesome film!

So far Diamonds is the only film of the Bond saga without a vote (not counting my screwball Everything or Nothing option). Interesting...
