I read the first book and really liked it. I'm not sure how I feel about it being a childish movie but it looks fun and so I hope I'll like it. I remember the book being more serious. Maybe not R rated serious but I don't remember it having that witty feel to it that this movie seems to have.

I saw this last night at a preview screening...
C. Reilly steals the show, I wasn't sure about him playing a vampire, but it's the best part of the movie...
and the storyline is really interesting, as well as the setting...

Unfortunately there's no character development whatsoever and the main kids are really bad actors... so... it was OK, but this is one of those instances in which instead of a movie, a miniseries would've worked better...
It's a very weak movie...
