Hello I know this will sound like a weird question but I am practicing to paint head sculpts and was wondering what colour do you go for? Do you try to make a real skin tone or do you try to Hot Toys colour which mainly looks like a yellowish/cream colour with a tan wash? I ‘m getting OK at mixing and painting on a “real skin” tone but as soon as it put it a head on a body it sticks out a mile. It’s not so bad if you are painting a figure who is wearing a shirt but I am working on a custom Dutch and most of his upper body is exposed.
It looks like Hot Toys hardly use any paint on their head and mainly use the colour of the resin. I tried to match the colours they use but I am finding it hard.
