So I was thinking of buying one of those animatronics for my man cave but then realized it's probably cheaper to just make my own!

You just need a mannequin, a butcher knife, a mask, boots and some coveralls or a blue jumpsuit. I think a mannequin is around 100, maybe under. The rest should be pretty cheap!

Who makes the best masks? I'm not too concerned with accuracy, just want to make something menacing :)\

mannequin: https://www.ebay.com/itm/6FT-2-INCH...416?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0e00f518 ($150 OBO)

pre-owned coveralls: https://www.ebay.com/itm/East-Germa...18533?pt=US_Costumes&var=&hash=item35c4a07c05 ($25)

Myer's mask ($40-100??? Dunno the best company for this)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ALTAMA-MIL...25?pt=US_Men_s_Shoes&var=&hash=item2a126fce49 ($55?? Maybe cheaper somewhere else, unless I got the wrong ones and it's Carolina boots, I keep mixing it up between H1 and H1RZ)

I'm having trouble finding a METAL knife, that's not plastic.

H1 Myers has a blue suit while H2 has a forest green suit. The best inexpensive mask it the Trick or Treat Studios H2 myers and runs about 50-60 but can be found cheaper. https://www.trickortreatstudios.com/

This is probably the best resource for Myers stuff and used masks are plenty as well. https://www.michael-myers.net/phpBB/

Honestly the best mask's can be quite pricey and reach several hundred dollars. Mine is made by Nightowl and is called the Creep https://www.nightowlpro.com/catalog.html

The Mannequin you picked looks to be a good one. The boots you show look to be accurate but honestly I would rather have a better mask then boots so I just got an old pair from Goodwill and sprayed them black and spent more on the mask.

On mine I went with latex knife wielding hands that can be found here https://www.handiboy.com/ between the mask and these hands is what really makes mine look awesome.

I also just used the foam knife from Trick or Treat studios and looks real enough.

If you Pm me your email I'll send ya pics on how mine turned out. It still catches me off guard sometimes as when you walk in he's set up to be behind you...lol

Good luck with your build as it will probably be the cheapest easiest 1:1 to do.

Thank you so much for all this information! I'll PM you my email shortly.

I've been doing some more research. I did stumble across the TOTS mask for H2 and it looks great! Since H2 is my favorite film of the whole series, I'll try and copy that kind of Myers. For $50, I can't complain. I will most likely edit it here and there, some paint, trimming, whatever. I've seen many masks sell for $300+ on Ebay, it's insane! I don't think I could justify that kind of price :)

Are the coveralls really green? I always thought it was blue in the first two.

I found some cheap jungle boots for $35 on Ebay or Amazon, so that should work out fine.

Those hands are AWESOME. Might have to increase my budget to include those.

I'm still deciding if the knife should be plastic/foam or real metal. I feel like someone will eventually hurt themselves (lmao) but I think it would look great if I age the metal correctly too.
