I Googled various things and it turned out he is a Death Korps soldier as Elephant named him.

Presume they're a more recent creation as I don't remember them from my 28mm 40K collecting/painting days.

But Chinese companies often claim that even when it's bonded leather, just because it has genuine bits of leather in it. Either way, probably better than pleather.

nonono bonded leather are much less durable than pleather.

from the looks of the fuzzy side the base at least looks like suede. the top might be full grain or laminated. laminated or processed top will still go bad but better than bonded leather.

genuine leather can still mean different things. why not be specific?
