    Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon

Unlike what was achieved in MoS, BvS and -to a certain degree- ZSJL, I fail to see any deconstruction of the genre in Rebel Moon. The DC movies are "deconstructions" in the sense that they ask these questions: a) what would happen if such super-powered, god-like beings existed in our world...

Agree to completely disagree. R1 and Andor are the two shining beacons in Disney Wars.

    RIP Eleanor Coppola

Sad news. I loved seeing her in the behind the scenes stuff of Apocalypse Now, and Hearts of Darkness is fantastic.

    Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon

Yeah. Couldn't find any fault in his critique.

    Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon

I completely agree that Snyder needs good writers giving him good material and also talented people to help reign in his more indulgent whims.

    Superman (July 11th, 2025)

Well, other than Harrison Ford as Batman, the casting is brilliant. Strike that, Travolta as Superman doesn't quite work either. Maybe Michael Biehn as Batman and Tom Selleck (sans moustache) as Superman?

    The Alien Franchise Discussion

Haven't seen the 4K and probably never will, but I really like the graininess of the original. It has this raw feel to it that I find complements the story very well.

Star Wars Saga (OT/PT/ST) Discussion Thread

Big fan of Bowie here. I kinda like stuff throughout his entire career, from Space Oddity through Diamond Dogs to Modern Love to Heathen. The man was a true giant.

    Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon

I'm all for that, but you need a good, captivating story, well told and with engaging characters to make it work. And we didn't get any of that. To stay with the SW comparison: sure, we didn't know much about Luke, but he was a charismatic, relatable character, so we wanted to see/know more...

    Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon

Nah, sorry man, I really don't see what you are seeing in these movies. Whatever it is that Snyder was trying to do, it didn't work for me this time. I'm a huge fan of his DC movies, but this is not good by any stretch of the imagination. Snyder needs a good story and script to unleash his...

    Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon

Oh dear god, are we doing this crap again? Why the **** can't people just move on, this is so tiresome. Anyway, will give this a go later on, see if it's as mediocre as the first one.

    Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon

To be fair, most people who didn't like BvS liked Snyder's longer cut better, so if there is an improvement on the story and the characters, I'm sure people will recognise that. However, unlike BvS, which I loved, Rebel Moon isn't a very good movie IMHO, so I'm not holding my breath.

InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

For such a dynamic character, I see a depressing lack of variety in the posing department... You'd think that at least one blogger would go for some action poses to showcase the figure's range.

InArt - The Batman 1/6th Figure

Batman is just a money-printing machine for these companies, isn't it? Every time a new Batman figure comes out, I get this crazy compulsion to buy them all and have an entire shelf of just Batman figures... Anyway, this InArt figure is amazing, well... like pretty much every figure they've...

Man, I miss me some Alien related figure news... I know we had a bit of an overkill a couple of years ago, but it's been a while.

    Superman (July 11th, 2025)

I liked in Kingdom Come, in comic book form, red on black. This, however, doesn't quite work for me.
