I’m going to let you guys know a secret. I’ve worked on a cowl a couple months back and planning to 3D print this for inarts head. This is why I haven’t been too critical of the sculpt. This is my personal project but once I figure out the mechanisms, sizing etc and if it looks good at the end who knows if this can sell. Still lots of minor adjustments left like the neck being longer etc, but I hope this project can succeed.
I plan to have it as a seamless neck piece, with a separate collar attached to it. This is once inart finally ships though I can test the sizing.
My biggest issue right now is how I want to transfer the inart eyes to the new cowl since it’s so good. I can paint separate eyes but it’s not the same effect.
But yeah, once I get some testing done I will share this with the group.
It’s a very ambitious project so I still don’t want anyone to expect anything. But I will work in the shadows..

The more I look at this thing, the more excited I get. Partly just to receive my stock figure, but also to see what other people do with theirs. We’ve seen how great people have made the HT look with modifications and IA’s stock figure is already no slouch. I’ve been wanting to see what he looks like under red lights; looking at the Batsignal and the water streaks has me wondering if anybody will have the cajones to craft a “rain drenched” Bats with a dark wash over the suit and raindrops and streaks on the cowl.
Years ago, I saw a Tom Hanks Saving Private Ryan custom. It might’ve been elvis1976 that made it, though I could be wrong, and I think he used hot glue to create water droplets and streaks on the helmet. It looked incredible and I’ve always wanted to see more people experiment with it.

These are so darn close, apart from the obvious collar inaccuracy of the HT version. The only small things that bother me about IA's (if that's their final version on the left) is the narrow mid-section and the slightly smaller head. This should look like a guy wearing a few layers of armour, so his body around the ribs should be wider and heavier. Also with the smaller head, along with the tapered waist, there's some exaggerated proportioning leading the whole figure to look a little like a stylized animated version, sort of like when you see an Anime/Manga interpretation of a live action character. These are just based on the photo here. We'll have to see what IA's final product looks like, but I do believe it will exceed HT's, even if it's just by a small bit.
I was told my opinion doesn't matter...
When it comes to the cowled sculpt, I don’t know if they really did.
In general, no one cares for costuming details; people really just care about the portraits. Which is why John said they’d optimize things but only if there is a general consensus.
On Facebook, I’m honestly the only major advocate for “minute” details like this and I hardly ever get support. The bigger items are largely being suggested to some extent, but not the smaller, more minute details. They did improve certain things, but the cowl nose, face plate likeness, the forehead shape as others are mentioning, neck joint and size of suit collar, length of cape, etc would’ve been nice to see.

Out of curiosity, when did they specifically say they were improving the cowl?

From their YT video on inart updates last year they said they were revising the cowl and optimizing Aragorn as well. Surprisingly the cowl barely changed at all in the final.

Maybe they’ll randomly send a new cowl out to some VIP customers in a year…

Head doesn't look too small on that picture, great job Jedha ! I can't wait for your review.
