davejames did a lot of Vader mods, maybe he can remember or answer your question.

Why do you want to change Vader boots anyway? Do you have a too-short or too-tall Vader in particular?
Oh, I don't want to change the boots. I don't mind the height on my ANH Vader. Seems just right to me. I was just responding to your post where you said changing the height was a "simple fix" with the right foot pegs. It sounded like you had done it before and I wanted to know if/how to get them out for future reference since I couldn't when I had tried in the past. It's too late for me now. I basically destroyed the real leather boots I had trying to get regular ball joints in there. It wasn't until I took those boots apart and saw what the issue was that I went to look inside the HT boots to discover that it wasn't a standard ball joint they were using.

My knee jerk thought was "those pegs are anything but simple to swap out" Maybe it's just me though, or maybe it's Maybelline

I couldn’t decide which way to display this thing, BD or clean, so I said screw it and decided to get a second one as well to do both 😂😅

First one arrives tomorrow from SS, I’m so stoked. I’ve enjoyed my ESB Vader despite its faults so I’m happy to see this in its glory 🍻

I’m on the wait list on sideshow. What are the chances I can still get one from them?

Got my 10 day shipping notice from Sideshow! Now the challenge will be can I resist the temptation to get a standard to go with my deluxe to have another free standing clean Vader. Other than that ancient Sideshow Vader, the only other one I have is (the almost equally ancient) Hot Toy ANH Vader.

Very difficult (but not impossible) to pose.
The collar is a bit annoying to futz (I prefer the hidden collar look).
I wish the lights were painted to appear luminescent. Anyone wanting to use the USB is going to have get creative with wiring.
The head sculpt is awesome (of course) as is the drape of his cape.
Pleather (yay).
I like the recycled Terminator stand better than I thought I would.

My thoughts.

From Instagram. I love the height on him.
