The head swap I’ve been waiting to see, thanks Justin!
Not accurate, but will be a big upgrade for my esb Vader. Now time to start camping toy anxiety
Looks like the same mask and dome than the Rogue One except small modifications like the grill and cuts in the tusks.

I'll be sticking to my RO Vader (with ANH cod piece)

I guess it's a bit of a relief they haven't been able to really top the RO since I don't have to spend 400$ for a new figure.
If the upcoming RoTJ didn't have the crappy ESB headsculpt I'd be tempted

Exactly! Especially when you consider that the undamaged helmet alone will more than likely go for $50+ on the aftermarket, it just made sense to buy the deluxe. You could more than likely sell all those extra parts that you may not want and come out better than had you just bought the standard outright
Conversely, if you don't have a Vader, you want the best 1/6 Hot Toys Vader-to-date, and you could care less about the prequels, one could probably sell the battle damaged Hayden head for $100-120. I know the battle damage is the primary draw for this figure, but I prefer this Vader with clean helmet to the upcoming ROTJ Vader (at least what we've seen of it so far).

Any decent stores still selling the deluxe [preferably a Hong Kong seller so I dont get hit with customs duty]?
Asking for a friend.... who is me.

I'm eager to have someone measure this Vader. He's looking really tall in Justin's review against all other Vaders. I know a lot of people like to fantasize that Vader is well over 7 feet tall but he's really supposed to be about 6'6''. Curious where this one's height lands him in reality.
Boot to tip of helmet reads about 13.25”.
I’m not pulling out my 40th ESB because we already know this is bigger. That said, I also have an OG “Sideshow Sixth-Scale” Vader (with the all-too-common broken/lost tusk) that also dwarfed the ESB and I’m curious to line the pair up. AND maybe see how the clean helmet looks on it.

That translates to 6' 7-1/2", so closer to Wor-Gar's 6'6" than 7'. Works for me.

I just don't understand Justin's comparisons in his video. My ANH Vader is 13.25 inches... so it would be the same height as this new OWK Vader.
Yea I don't think Justin has them lined up properly in his video when doing the comparisons.

In Justin's video, this OWK Vader looks as tall as Sideshow's ROTJ/ESB Vader which would be too tall and taller than RO and ANH Vader; however, in TK's video from a few pages back, ANH Vader and OWK Vader look to be the same height

I know there was a concern a while back that some of the Vaders seemed way too tall, so some of us shortened him up a bit. And I think RO might have been one of those.

Yeah, I think you're right, I remember all that starting with the Sideshow Vaders. As I recall, RO was the tallest of the bunch.

But a simple thing to fix with the right foot pegs. I forget if I shortened or made taller my ANH Vader. It's a bash of ANH and RO ultimately. I remember yours, Dave, and it came out really nice.

Yeah I've got a "ANH" and "ESB" Vader that are such a hodgepodge of different parts I can't remember now what the original figures might have been. 😄

How'd you do that? The HT Vaders (at least ANH and ESB) don't use the standard ball joint foot pegs. For whatever reason, HT uses the ankle pegs that are more like oversized wrist joints. They're very similar to the ones Sideshow used for their Vader and prometheus bodied figures as well, but aren't interchangeable with the HT figure. While it's pretty easy to remove the pegs from the Sideshow feet/boots, it felt nearly impossible when I tried removing the HT pegs.

Oh, I didn't remember those ankle pegs on HT Vaders. Thought those dumb pegs were Sideshow specific like the photo you used.

I went back and looked at all my photos during the several rebuilds I did, and I don't have one picture of any boot swap or pegs change. So it couldn't have been that complicated, if I even changed the feet. Maybe I didn't. Maybe ANH Vader's height was OK.

Still, just means you need to swap out the HT shins as well I guess to get back to regular pegs that you can then extend.

Nah, they're not Sideshow specific unfortunately. They were used on DX11 Joker, Kevin Flynn (probably others but those are the two I know for sure) and some of the women figures use a version of them too like Wonder Woman and Yelena Belova. The pic is of the sideshow ones since you can't really get a good pic of the HT ones without either actually pulling them out since their boots are full faux leather from the foot to the leg/shin area instead of in two pieces like the Sideshow ones, or cutting the boot down to get to the peg. But, pegs themselves are similar to each other, just not interchangable.

I could be wrong about how the HT ones are actually inserted into the foot part of the boots but I believe they're sort inserted at an angle. as well like you see in these Yelena boots below as that's where the peg hole was on my custom real leather boots. I never used them though as I couldn't get the peg out of the HT boots :lol :slap I tried shoving a ball joint in there and it would not work :cautious:

davejames did a lot of Vader mods, maybe he can remember or answer your question.

Why do you want to change Vader boots anyway? Do you have a too-short or too-tall Vader in particular?
