threezero is expanding the 1:6 GI JOE line for 2022!

Don’t think they can top SSC Baroness arguably the best they released. That being it’s tough to support anything that pumps out 2 or 3 figs max a year.

I think they already massively topped Sideshow's Destro and definitely matched Sideshow's Commander but made his outfit better and more accurate. Only thing missing is hooded sculpt but Hasbro won't allow it these days. I think Baroness will look good too but I agree, I wish we had like 4 reveals each year. They may only do 5 main Cobra's and 5 main Joe's. Who knows... I'm supporting the line as much as I can tho

Figured this version was coming at some point, but it only looks half-commando to me.

I just about had a heart attack at the new reveal tease and thought "is it Baroness?!" I'm not annoyed, I just don't understand why 3Z isn't yet giving us Baroness, Zartan, Scarlett, Duke, Flint, Lady Jaye etc

I think we should email them or FB message and politely ask for new characters. This Snake Eyes looks good and all but wasn't needed. Unless of course they give us an all fabric Storm Shadow lol, then I'm in

IMO this is a pretty lazy release. The only things that are new for this figure are the headsculpt, sweater and tactical vest. Everything else is the same as the V1, including the body by the way those arms look. Should've been the DAMToys body they used on Firefly. Sad part is, the sweater even looks like a reuse of the one used on Firefly under his camo shirt.

One thing I do like is that it looks like you can store the uzi now so it could be worth it to pick up the pants/belt to interchange with the ones that came with the first version.

Disappointed b/c Commando Snake Eyes is my favorite look for him and this just ain’t it. I was really hoping for a Commando Snake Eyes that looks a bit like the Classified figure. Based on what we can see from this one image, I see no reason to buy this and instead may just pick up the new headsculpt and tactical vest to use with Sideshow’s Snake Eyes and Timber set

Maybe they'll give us another Storm Shadow, but with a fabric shirt instead of rubber one so I won't have to go the custom route for that since they want to redo the characters.

EDIT: if they wanted to mostly reuse parts, they coudl've at least given him the kneepads and combat boots from the Firefly figure as that would've at least looked more commando-y than the ones from the V1

Yep, just lazy. Another lazy element is they keep doing the low- hanging fruit. So far, only 1 real head sculpt in this entire series, no females and they keep repeating some of the characters. At this rate, the license will run out, evaporating away...

Yeah. Was really hoping for something new. This looks good, but variety is the spice of life.

Developing those characters you mentioned takes a lot of R&D to create from scratch and there’s less margin for error for face sculpt accuracy.

It’s much easier to pump out masked characters like Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, etc.

That’s why we get so many Power Rangers, Star Wars Troopers, Iron Men and Spidermen.

Considering ThreeZero still charges sub $200 prices, I don’t expect much more. Honestly, I don’t mind paying higher prices if they expand with more characters and improve the sculpts. Some of their Game of Thrones headsculpts are decent (relative to price) but far from Hot Toys level.

I like this as a modern take on V4 Snake Eyes.

By todays standards the price is very decent so a great option for those who missed v1 and good starting point for custom figures. These types of releases help subsidise the development costs of new figures folk want more. If it was 300 dollar figure it would be a waste of a figure slot but at the actual asking price it is a nice variant. If 3Z went the extra mile and gave it different boots, suppressed weapons etc it would be even better of course but as is it is decent IMHO

If they could've pushed it a little further with new boots, kneepads and pants I would've been ok with the release as the arm pieces can be removed on your own if desired.

It would've gotten me closer to this look which is sort of my ideal Commando Snake Eyes look. It's like 3Z took from this for the upper half and then stopped trying with the lower half. I don't even mind the red visor or blue sweater. It makes it different than a guy in all black. But the "ninja" lower half is a misstep to me.

Was clearly influenced by the 1991 Snake Eyes, and that's not a good thing in my opinion. Looks OK, but not my taste for this character.

AHH! that makes more sense. If that's the case, the should've fully committed and made the trim on the pants blue as well as the shin armor to match the blue of the sweater.
