I think extreme environmental conditions affect the pleather as well but I'm with you - none of my figures with pleather have any of the cracking and flaking issues that others have complained about. I don't see the pleather on this figure being a problem either.
Many people forget, especially with third party sellers, the damage to the figure may have been done BEFORE they got it.....stored in some crappy warehouse down by the river without climate control for months....

Looks incredible. Can’t wait!

I'm excited to see the cape displayed correctly in this photo. I thought I noticed it having the high collar in a photo awhile ago but couldn't quite tell.

I pre-ordered this to originally have it with the battle damage but now seeing this cape I may be tempted to buy another one for a clean version.

I still prefer this nose plug that has extra dimension over the tiny nose on the ESB version that’s just painted.
They could have re-worked the nose on this one to look better though.

I still prefer the mask minus the nose plug.

This turned out fantastic! Best part of the series represented in a single figure. The damaged helmet came out beautifully and the sculpt underneath is appropriately haunting. Such a great moment.
What series?? Vader has never been damaged like this in a live action show/movie. Isn't this an "artistic interpretation" figure? Based on the Rebels cartoon maybe?

dx28 helmet + upcoming rotj body will probabyl be the best hot toys OT Vader outside of custom jobs. Quite like the base with this release as well, kind of like the base rotj Luke came with but more subtle, which is good.

No guarantees those necks will be compatible. It will be interesting to compare all the Vaders when the ROTJ comes out. I still think the body on the Obi-Wan version is superior, looks to be more proportional like the R1 version.
