Anyone have the first '89 Mars Joker for sale or know of someone that does? Please PM me if you do. Thanks!

Kit doesn’t have a cut off date from the looks of it. Not sure how it works if I decide I want it at a later date. I know waiting is at my own risk.

Ordered Mr. J, it was 25 bucks cheaper on ebay including tax last week. It said it has shipped...we shall see if I got a great deal or not. Ebay in stock usually delivers.

I am curious as to what the situation is with these short pre-order figures.

They can't be second runs as the turnaround is too quick and Kit's comments on Facebook imply they will start shipping after CNY so he could have them on hand already.

If they were all canceled pre-orders I would have expected them to have been sold out again by now, especially Mr J as he usually only has a couple of units when that occurs.

Did Mars make extras and reverse them for Kit exclusively once all pre-orders were sold?

Also I thought Mars wasn’t doing second runs anymore or Kit advised them against doing so.

Nothing official from Mars on that one but yes Kit did tell him not to so I am sure these are not a second run of three different figures.

Actually just remembered he also mentioned in this same group that Queen Amidala went up for a short pre order again to ship after CNY so it is not just a Mars situation. might just be extra stock Kit was wise to order

Those who missed better go to Kit site right now because Mr W and Jack joker is up again for order!

$165, I think $20 more than original 2022 PO price ($145).

Thanks for the heads up. Just placed my order for a 2nd figure - used about $80 in OSK reward points.

Wanted the option of a black turtleneck and jeans Bruce Wayne look (still need to source the parts).

It is a tougher sell in that scenario, however it is a great upgrade on that figure. The sculpt is much more accurate than what HT put our in 2015
Is this figure worth it if I already have Batman Returns Bruce Wayne and limited space?

IMO, worth the upgrade. I own both.

The Mars headsculpt and the body proportions are much better than HT. The skin tone on the Hot Toys seems overly dark but Mars seems too pale, wish there was an happy medium.

If space is an issue, maybe sell the Hot Toys or repurpose it with a different Bruce outfit for a different look (black turtleneck). Personally, I would keep the Hot Toys Bruce so you have the option to place the sculpt on the torn Batman Returns cowl.

Or use your HT/JazzInc Batmobile as storage space and stuff the extra Bruce figure in the vehicle? :lol

I opened mine up today (was saving it for the New Year celebration, and to open it up with the new Joker figure that just arrived as well).

It's a nicely done figure. The pictures had me thinking the headsculpt was too much of a caricature (with the Keaton lips), but in-hand it doesn't look exaggerated. I like that he has the "younger" look that he had in "Batman '89", as opposed to the older, more mature look in "Returns," so that helps set it apart from the Hot Toys.

I'm going ahead with the glasses look for now, as I really like how studious and focused he looks with the glasses in the batcave (right after the party). I agree with the consensus that it's best that they don't have lenses - but it seems like the design/inclusion of the glasses was done as an afterthought, given that the ears on the headsculpt just don't stick out enough for the glasses to easily loop around them and not end up either having one of the arms hanging in midair or the lenses looking crooked on his face. I spent more than ten minutes fiddling them into a decent-looking position.

There was one problem with the figure: Two of the three glued-on studs/buttons on one of the cuffs of his arm don't seem to have been applied (if they fell off in the box, I couldn't find them). The other arm is fine, with all three intact.

Usually companies seem to include a few replacement studs in a baggie, but there were none included with mine (as an example, the Mars Toys Joker figure had replacement studs, but they're the wrong color). I contacted One Sixth Kit for replacements, but they want me to pay $15 for shipping replacements since the package was delivered "over three weeks ago" (it was technically delivered 3.5 weeks ago, I just held off on opening it until Joker arrived).

Which is all bonkers, because:

  • $15 is an insane price for what amounts to a few tiny, nearly invisible pieces of plastic (they should be no more than a nickel apiece, with maybe a few dollars shipping, at most - this is going to be smaller and lighter than sending a postcard).
  • 3.5 weeks doesn't seem long enough to give up on quality control (are we really going to quibble over a few extra days, OSK?)
  • OSK has this guy listed for more orders (so they're clearly still selling and planning on receiving and shipping more soon - they shouldn't even be considering closing the window on quality control at this point)

I have other figures pre-ordered with OSK (like the Batman Forever Riddler, which is rumored to release soon) and said I was happy with just waiting until then for inclusion in the shipment, but no dice.

So given all that, does anyone have any advice on where I can get some replacement studs/buttons for cheap? Or even what keyword I should be using in my searches?

Work in progress on my casual Batcave Bruce. Never put together a figure from scratch before but so far I am happy with how he is turning out. His headless tux is just to the right there - a second headsculpt would be great to pick up at some point so I could display both.

Love this. I may have to put one together myself.

Hey pug, which jeans did you use for Wayne? I've been looking for a good pair of darker jeans and those look pretty good.

Could you please let us know where you sourced your parts from and how much?
  • body
  • turtleneck
  • jeans
  • shoes
I was attempting the exact same project about a month ago on Ali/EBay and put several items in my cart but gave up because it’s hard to tell whether or not the body/clothing will fit right together.

But I have renewed interest after seeing your kitbash and I was able to buy a 2nd Mars Bruce Wayne after Kit listed Mr. W on PO again.

I’m using the Star Wars Tarkin chair accessory for Bruce to sit on.
