I hope being an advocate for reasonable treatment of customers and members of this forum with regard to a business whose products are at the heart of what we do on this forum never becomes anything a moderator would consider out of place or a violation of the rules here.

This all started anew because of the experience one of our members had in interacting with EXO in public setting. I don’t see that as being off the rails, irrelevant, or harassing.

You all know where I stand in this discussion, so I won’t rehash it here. But if free discussion of these and other issues that DIRECTLY impact our collecting experience is deemed inappropriate or against the rules, I will simply show myself out.

I’ve pointed out to some of the others who like to engage in talking about Nanjin to create their own posts to do so and not clutter up the other posts with off topic stuff.

I was told by some here that they will post what they want where they want.

I’m not against people complaining Nanjin, just put it in its proper place (its own topic) so it doesn’t clutter up and throw topics about figures off track.
Basically let those who want to engage in the drama do so while those of us that rather talk and read about the figures can do so without the drama.

Kes is still being considered apparently. As someone who isn't getting the VOY figures (but is still a fan) I probably wouldn't need her to consider the main characters "complete". I guess she's kind of like Tasha Yar in that way. I also question if she'd sell well enough to jusitfy.

Would many of you buy a Kes?

In the end all the kvetching amounts to they tried to hard with this figure.

It's a minor miracle there is a Nelix figure even being made to complain about. He was going to be a hard sell no mater what they did, there was only ever a pretty small niche group who wanted him to begin with (mostly completists who want him there yet also somewhat to disappear on the shelf).
It seems knowing this, in a loving yet misguided attempt to make the hard-sell character stand out and raise interest in him, instead of a more neutral bland approach, they went for a more stand out color scheme and overly expressive stand out face.
None of which the character needed. cause as is, he already stands out to much. :lol

You're right, noone is planning to pose Neelix at the forefront of their Voyager shelf 😂

As to Kes, I doubt the demand is there. If Exo-6 wants to explore "lesser characters", they're much better off making a Yoeman Rand or Nurse Chapel. Even Dr. Pulaski would sell better.

Maybe a niche group, but it's clear there are still a lot of collectors passing on this figure who would have been interested if they had simply chosen a better outfit and expression.

The character was pretty dull but I would still get a Kes anyway just based on that sultry sexy voice of hers. 😁

Just wanted to mention that it's quite common to post prototype photos for pre-orders with disclaimers that the actual product might be different. It's pretty standard.

Folks saying "I wish i knew what the final product were going to look like," i totally get it.

Folks saying that Exo-6 is running their business badly because of this... I hate to say it, but you're not really familiar with how the industry works.

The 3D renders in the official photos is definitely not normal, though, but hey, it's a small operation. No need to talk trash over that.

Also, my username is the same on most forums i've been on for the last 20 years.

Another statement about Neelix:

Something to be aware with Neelix:

1) Production Neelix should be another 4mm shorter than FC Data.
2) A revised head sculpt
3) Our product pictures did not show the appropriate hands for accessories.

Why we don't wait till we have the "best" proto and pictures before showing product photos and pre-order?

Simple, we don't have the luxury to wait. Either we:

put Neelix out now OR
don't make Neelix until 2025 OR
don't make him at all OR
shut down EXO-6

I only had 4 choices. Don't even tell me what you think I should do if you NEVER own a 1/6 factory. Running a factory is nothing close to outsiders' imaginations.

I eat at Michelin 5 stars restaurants every night doesn't mean I can cook a meal. I have to be a "cook" to know how to cook.

Also someone asked about the spots on Neelix hands.

Nanjin Tam will you be revising the colour of the spots on the back of his hands ? I only ask as the spots on the figure look blue and the spots on the actors hands look brown/tan. Just an observations.
I have no idea. Will will have a final look when we produce him.

Neelix was never a character who would sell much on his own. It just wasn't going to happen. So he's a niche figure, with an expensive build, and honestly I'm just glad I have the chance to own him.
As for Nanjin, he's making figures how he wants to. As ALL of the 1/6th scale companies do. Look at Howard and his "personal collection". Lots of figures made with doofy faces that we never even got a real response about. Ant-Man, Doc Ock, just to name a couple.
Anyone here still waiting for that Khal Drogo from ThreeZero that we saw on display but, almost a year later, has never even been hinted at again? Hell, when was the last time we got a Game of Thrones figure, period? I'm not confident we'll ever see Drogo, or any other figure from GoT.
But I am confident we will get all the figures Nanjin has teased. Because so far he's followed through on everything. Yes, he's been slower than we would have liked, but they are still happening. If it was still up to QMX? We wouldn't have anyone from any series besides TOS, TNG, and DSC. I heard that straight from their reps at San Diego Comic Con.
So I'll tolerate Nanjin's weirdness, because I'm still getting figures from the series that has shaped my life since I was in the 4th grade. At this point, I think he'd have to come to my house and personally spit in my wife's face before I stopped buying figures from him.
