back in 2019 they showed the FF7R Tifa and Aerith prototypes then by 2021 they released that mess of a Tifa figure..... BUT with the recent improvements-ish of the Tifa figs(Dress versions) maybe the re-release next month might be truer to their promo pics.
This must be why they're going after third parties. If someone sees this cheap, ugly Tifa next to a good third party one, they'd think the official figure is a bootleg and buy the third party one instead.

They better not touch my SGD Tifa!:shakingfist: I hope the production finishes soon so I can get her already.

That PAK fiasco is so bad; thanks for reminding me how bad it really was. I had considered preordering the re-release, but, no.
You can always wait for when someone posts the actual pic of the Tifa PAK re-release next month. The Dress versions look nice tho and the eyes are now aligned.

Probably, what I do not get is how they messed up that Tifa figure in 2021 and I hope they(SQEX) would put extra effort to their quality. Here's to hoping the PAKs of Vincent, Cid, Cait Sith, Yuffie and that recently announced FFX PAK would look decent.

Over bad merchandise? Their merch and games are (obviously) not made by the same departments, kind of wild to want the whole company down because one portion of it isn’t meeting expectations. lol
Yeah, would be a real shame to never see another Square Enix game because of a reason like that...

It's just a matter of perspective. Just think about it like that: Bad merchandise is good for your wallet. If you see it and you don't wanna have it, you save a lot of money :ROFLMAO:

Their merch and games are both sub par as of late, FF7 r was a notable exception but if you were a fan of hitman 47 or tomb raider you know how badly they screwed those. Then they made the genius decision to sell the rights off for them for peanuts, and the company that bought tomb raider turned around and sold the rights for a streaming SHOW alone for more than the price they bought it at.

It's a company run by out of touch arrogant lunatics, and I've long since stopped caring about them, at this point it's only the ips I like. There's zero reason to support them at all.

Eh, ymmv. I loved stranger of paradise, I’ve heard great things about the newest dragon quest and both octopath traveler games, and I really enjoyed the bit of Harvestella that I played (I just haven’t picked it up yet).

Executives doing a piss poor job of merchandise management just means the executives need to be traded out to better serve the creatives.

And that’s from a Deus Ex fan, rip.

I absolutely understand @faker ’s frustration. Square Enix was once viewed upon as some prestigious brand…well, for better or worse, as that sentiment kinda got us where we are with them today i.e. - “a company with a misplaced sense of arrogance”…nonetheless, when you got a SE game, you knew it was gonna be quality. But over the past decade or so, their games have been:

1- going down in quality and are getting by on the brand name alone.
2- Unnecessarily long development cycles.

Their physical products are:

1- going down in quality-
2- whilst prices are going up. Make this make sense for me…
3- inconsistency with scale and reluctance to finish a series/line.

I too am frustrated with them as a company. Would i want them to fold? Nah, that’s too extreme. Would i like a new leader that’ll pull the company together and help bring back the quality it once stood for? ABSOLUTELY.

The quality going down is inaccurate.

Their PAK faces now are way better than the stuff they did 10 years ago. Along with their size and joints. A lot of figures back then joints become brittle and literally break off.

Now their retail prices are atrocious, good thing they go nearly half off overseas and you get get a bunch around $100, which is the average price of a 1/12 these days.

he thing that got me the most was, there was some interview with them about I think it was the smash cross over, or something like a console exclusive, and the response from them was something along the lines of "why should we grace you with our presence" as if Final Fantasy is still the gaming giant it once was, they're out here operating like there's no competition and yet Final Fantasy isn't the household gaming name it once was back in the 90s and 00s. Back then Final Fantasy was a console mover, now not so much. They've had a few hits here and there, but it's not anywhere close to what it once was, and I used to be a massive fan.

I say they should fold because I don't see the company ever improving at all as it is, and it'd need a complete liquidation to get set straight, if at all. They have a bunch of neopotistic business men as leaders and it's done nothing for the company at all.

And Nerdlord, I get it, as I was also a fan of Deus Ex, they handled the ip so badly I honestly forgot that was the other eidos property the had. But their mishandling of the brands are a top down thing. Only Yoshi P is handling things decently and he onyl got the reigns after unscrewing the mess that was ff14's original foul up. I know the guy who made FF15 initially intended to make ff13 versus and they screwed him around so much the end product was nothing liek he intended and it suffered greatly for it.

I don't understand why SquareEnix doesn't grant licenses for FF statues.
NieR gets insanely good official statues, while FF gets basically nothing. Only low quality figures or PVC.

Totally missed opportunity with FF7 Remake and other titles.

You've seen the FFVI Terra and Magitek Suit statue, right... (the price, even)? SE want to stay within in a premium tier, for some reason.

a complete set with body and headsculpt.

yup, some kind of fibre material that resemble the looks of leather /pleather. so it wont tear like pleather nor the thickness of real leather that causes the cloths look bloated.

And this is one of the difficulty of manufacture a good 1/6 articulate figure. Making the figure + cloths according to ratio. so it wont look like a toy,but better- statues quality articulate figure. sourcing multiple different type of material for the clothing ,make prototype, compare and decide which one is the best for looks while maintaining the ability of enduring the process of posing the figure. while most statues is just print>colouring.

its quite challenging due to ac is a old movie,so it dint have many 3d model for reference unlike ff7 remake. but boss will sculpt it based on his standard.

no planning for Squall, for Lightning yes. but boss still deciding on which costume for Lighting. either the original or lighting returns armor.

I don't mind the price. Prime1 has very nice 2B statues going for up to 2600 USD.

What I want is 1/4 and 1/3 scale statues for FF7R, FF8 etc. Not these low quality action figures.
GK resin scene for Final Fantasy is huge, because SquareEnix doesn't bother doing official licensed ones.
