If anyone actually took that post to heart, this site would cease to exist. I’m certainly not saying the observations aren’t valid.

Truth be told, it’s not so much about the money as it is the time. If it’s an addiction, that’s one thing, if not, it’s a hobby. Nothing wrong with a hobby.

In 2022 I got close to quitting forever and was doing a good job about selling my ****, but I slipped back into it.

For me it’s definitely the time and space aspect. Not broke or in debt, but it’s definitely an addiction > a hobby. Can’t stop. I’m hoping there’s a day that making toys just isn’t economically lucrative for these companies anymore and the market just evaporates and ceases to exist. Then there wouldn’t be an urge to get “the next one”. Thought for sure it was happening 2019/2020, but the industry still keep trudging on.

Toys is hell.

Honestly, I don’t see this industry ever going away. There will always be companies selling high end toys to us “older kids”. Especially now that we have bigger allowances now than when we lived under our parent’s roof.

I guess that’s why people say that adulting sucks. On one hand, as you pointed out, when you have the money, which most successful adults have, it’s pretty easy to just pickup the figures you want. On the other hand, which is where the adulting part kicks in, you have to question your motivation. That said, there certainly are worse vices than collecting action figures ;)

To that end, I’m not sure I can see myself still doing this in five years. By that time, I should have all the batman stuff I’m really interested in. Time will tell.

That’s true. Better dolls than drugs or alcohol or fatty foods or hookers.

Hell, the plastic crack probably keeps those other potential addictions at bay!

LOL! :ROFLMAO:

Say what you will about this hobby, but no one has ever proven it was a gateway to drugs and hookers :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Alright, no more of this depressing toy talk.

When is MARS going to make the Mr. Rogers “look Gotham, I’m friendly and trustworthy, come to my parade” Joker?

When you see that, don't you just start to think about the all the money y'all are throwing away on dolls? New clothes for your dolls, other versions of your dolls, buying back-up parts for your dolls, worrying about whether the pleather will last 5 years or 30 years, styling your doll's hair, or worse... stuffing your doll in the closet never to be seen again. Or... even worse, never opening that damn box to begin with.

How many figures do you have that you haven't even opened the box yet, and its been years...?
I confess that I have about 200 unopened. Yes, I have sinned. Forgive me, God. Don't send me to hell.

How about a display with all the Burton/Schumacher villains in their relaxing robes -- Joker with his martini, Penguin with Fred's hand, Riddler's smoking jacket, Freeze is already available with his Polar Bear slippers... not sure what Catwoman would wear, but let me think long and hard about it.

It's basically his Romero tie in teal green.

I find it to part too wide -- the white buttons on the orange shirt will show too much. That was a problem on the Romero tie. Also not sure its long enough.

Dino just messaged me for the new tie length so I also asked about pushing it closer together to hide the shirt buttons. 🙂

Excellent. I'm sure you sent him those photos before as well. If he can just match the photos, we'd be good.

As a guide, the tie ends look like they just pass his chest, while the bow loops hang on top of his pecs. The first and last pictures above demonstrate this clearly.

I sent him a few images months ago when we chatted about it and I just sent him this image with measurements about where the tie ends would land on my DX08. He’ll send me updated pics probably tomorrow.

Great! That imagine alone should be very helpful if he can shape the material. Hopefully without glue but that may be impossible at this scale.

I don't suppose dino has the Nicholson Joker from HT? I'm curious how the color of his teal material will match the HT vest.

I don’t think he does but I can ask. It’s hard to tell the exact shade of his material but I’m hoping it’s darker in hand.

The Mars tie is not a good representation -- as much as I appreciate that they included it for free -- so I'll be getting dino's tie no matter what. His work is always top notch. I'll trust his color choice. The picture he posted looks very close to the correct blue-green/teal.
