Hot Toys Back to the Future II - 1/6th scale DeLorean Time Machine

Nothing connected at the time, just batteries. Interesting!

Hot Toys Back to the Future II - 1/6th scale DeLorean Time Machine

Battery oddity? I left mine on overnight recently and when I woke up the batteries were low. Oddly, it seemed like I couldn't turn them off at that point. I still had the three button cycles (OFF, GROUND, HOVER) but "OFF" would stay lit, looking exactly like "GROUND". This all went away once...

Good info, he may get lucky with just that. If not, or it's problematic and doesn't want to hold, another possibility is using heat shrink tubing to help brace it. Clear tubing exists and can be found in very small sizes so that's a start. While they do make silver tubing, it may not be as...

I'm not entirely sure. I don't think I've seen anyone remove it entirely in here yet though some people have modified the inner wheel lights and such. If anyone has actually removed it, I'd love to see some pics.

The first batch had a weaker arm mechanism that was prone to snapping when trying to extend/rotate the wheels. A fair amount of people unboxing theirs broke this piece and had to send theirs back for replacement. Those people (and future orders) received a new arm with a bit more reinforcement...

Oh really? This is a GREAT tip if that pans out...thanks for mentioning it! I haven't even tried my USB yet but will now.

Congrats on it arriving safe! Unfortunately, both of those items are fairly well known and common. The degree to which the LEDs fill in and how much speckle there is on the tires varies (it's purposeful "weathering" for the Mark II), but both have some degree of that going on. The speckles...

Wow, I've seen similar stuff in the background of other collectors/youtubers but hadn't thought about that for a table idea. I don't really put much on it weight-wise, maybe the cat and he's under 20 lbs. Thanks for the heads up!

First off, congrats! Second, I was half thinking you were displaying it inside your coffee table until I read that last line. Given how little space I have with mine way up on a shelf, I'm trying to think of reasons not to explore this further...

Out of curiosity, is the reasoning that yours is technically "not damaged" that they won't change it? If you were to say, open it and perhaps not be so careful with the wheels...

I had one on the rear bumper and not the fender but it was pretty minor. I could probably hide it if need be.

I was thinking of grabbing a few types to see what works best. I've been leaning square, putting function > form with a greater contact patch, but part of me feels the round ones would look better from underneath. Especially with how high I have it displayed at the moment. More on that later...

Good on you for checking. My hunch, as mentioned above, is that he left it that way to cover both sets of people. The glue seemed fairly easy to remove for the black cushioning so I'm pretty confident I could rip it off and place my own padding (or none at all).
