Yep. Overall shape and certain design elements remain but there's certainly a lot of difference in the details.

No guarantee they'll fix it to make it accurate. How many times have they left something inaccurate and never fixed it?

Personally I'm not prepared to put down a NRD for a figure in the hopes that they'll change it. This isn't a small thing either, when the thing you're hoping they'll change is the difference between wanting the figure or not.
