It's a single thread on the back you have to remove. Used a seam splitter to remove the vest and yes the sleeves are separate from the vest. I used swapped out the upper torso for a Wolverine torso. Had to do a few customization the body and arms but in the end I prefer this over all look to...

I broke my neck peg trying to apply the sculpt back on. I posted my pic of the broken peg a few pages back. Be careful, I got lucky enough to have SS send me a replacement body.
