But won't a Prime1/Blitzway be sculpted costume too? Honestly, I think the sculpted costume detail is astonishingly good and I totally agree with Kojun that real fabric gives away the fact that it's not 1/1.
Get ready for this. Daniel just announced on the JND Studios Youtube update video #25 that the Reeve Superman portrait has undergone some "Significant changes" and they are doing a mini product "re-launch" next week to showcase it and let people on the wait list (or new customers) have a chance...
Do you mean the ball of blu tack to raise the head up a bit? I need to swap the bag over with the Hasbro version too as the SH version's strap is too short so the top of the bag sits too high above his belt.
Here's a better, natural daylight photo.
Few more photos. The close-up photo of the holster in hand is the most representative of the actual colour that it appears in person. Not sure why my camera changes the colour tone when I photographed the little mock-up costume display with all the different parts.
I now have all of the pieces I need to be able to convert the JND statue into a Raiders version. REALLY pleased with how all of these items have turned out! :)
Final adjustment to the length of the pants belt will need to be done after I've got the statue in hand so I don't make the belt too...
Thanks! The coloring was one of the most important parts that I wanted to be right and I think they did a great job.
Awesome to hear that JND will be continuing to work on the sculpt until production. I think they realize that the Connery sculpt surpasses Indy, so I have some faith (a leap of...
Some more amazing works of art from Full Metal Customs (Jon de Guzman & Dave Park). Here's the 1/3 scale Raiders belts and holster for my JND statue conversion. (The military pants belt will be cut to the correct length once I've got it onto the statue to see how long it should be).
Yes, his face definitely looks too thin. Hopefully that's just lens distortion as I can't believe they would produce something so clearly off from all the reference photos they've referred to. The hat being too wide also doesn't do the face width any favors. I look forward to seeing the correct...
Ugh. Starting to get buyers remorse looking at those pics. :(
For the price they're charging for this, they should be offering two portraits - one with an accurately fitting hat that doesn't need to sit over the full head of hair, and one without the hat on. Trying to get the solid hat to fit...
For the 1/3 whip, I just reached out to Joseph Strain at the Northern Whip Co. It was completed and shipped in 2 weeks. Brilliant service.
For the hat - I can certainly ask for more to be printed (I'm not sure if the artist is a member here but will find out). However, there's no point doing it...
Nice email from JND Studios Marketing Director - Daniel Na. Today they received the accurate Indy trousers / pants fabric that I shipped to them for reference to improve their statue. :)
Thanks! Yes, starting early was my plan so I've got everything ready to go apart from the final tweaks and paintjob on the hat once I can actually measure the statue's head size. The work that Joe Strain has done on the 1/3 scale whip just blew me away. It looks like a photo of a full size whip...
