Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures

I just pulled the trigger on a Ray and Egon for a good price from a UK seller.

I haven't spent this much money in an age. Someone re assure me as a life long Ghostbusters fan since I was 4 I have done the right thing.

Agreed, £220 per figure is harsh, even more so when its in stereo, but here are my two stood together. If that doesn't reassure you, I don't know what will! Ignore the bases. I'm buying some custom ones from Display Hero's. Word of advise, be careful when you clip in the Alice pack waist strap (not pictured), the male end has a tendency to snap if you even look at it funny. I got a pair of tweezers and hollowed out the female side a bit, applied light pressure to the male clips prior to clipping it in. Even then its risky lol.

Did a quick pass on sculpting some Cheez-Its. They need to be a bit thinner, but that's an easy fix. Second pass will be improved. New box was printed on glossy paper. Looks nicer, but a bit harder to fold. I have a few ideas to remedy the problem. Inside of the box (backside of the paper) was painted to look like cardboard.

One down, three to go! Finally got around to setting up the Ghostbusters. Putting the proton pack on around the waist was an absolute *****.

Thankfully the front clip worked without breaking anything! Overall, I think Venkman looks pretty good!

Two down, two to go! Ray is pretty good too, with perhaps a better likeness than Peter. Still, I do wish they gave him a bit more girth since he was a bit fatter around the tummy than the others.

Can anyone tell me if the wand can actually clip into one of the belts clips, or is this just tucked into the pocket? I tried finding a spot on the wand to clip on, but nothing fits, so I'm thinking the easiest way to achieve this pose is to insert one part of the wand into the pocket?

In my opinion there’s no “perhaps” rays likenes is about 2x better. Repainting Venkmans eyes and eyebrows correctly is a non negotiable and it helps bring it at least some likeness but because the sculpt is just not there it still falls short.

He modded it by gluing a small clip to the wand so it can hook into the keychain on the belt, if I recall correctly.

Nice futzing job with the belts on yours.

Ah right, no wonder! I think I can get one part of the wand inserted into the pocket to make it look like it's clipped in there. Might go that route instead of modding the wand itself.

Yeah, futzing the belt certainly helps. Glad I undressed them all to loosen up the belt and rearrange the accessories. Takes a while, but worth the effort on these ones. Still need to tweak the poses a bit, but they do look better to my eye than in pics. Not sure why I cant seem to capture photos that look the way they do to my own eyes lol. Others seem to have photography techniques that capture toy photography better.

Three down, one to go! Egon looks pretty good too. I think the head sculpt is probably the best of the four Ghostbusters.

Glad the wand has a little flat section with a gap that allows it to slide into the pocket for the look he had in the movie! No mod to the wand needed!

Godammit!! Almost made it through all 4 without any breakages! But then I must've put my fingers in the wrong spot slightly because I bent the little bloody antenna thing on the proton pack.

It's fallen off now so will need to glue that back. At least that was the only issue. Everything else is fine, and glad to have the team setup after all this time!

Thanks for checking it out Yeah, luckily I read on here all the reports of breakages, so was pretty careful. I normally use hot water to swap out hands, so figured it was a good idea with these clicks. Helped a lot. Still bummed I managed to snap the little antenna off of Winston's proton pack. Almost made it through all four without any breakages until that slip! GGAAHH!!! Will be hard to glue that back on I think.

Speaking of, I just got batteries for my packs and installed them. The front of Venkman's proton wand doesn't light up. So, if you have proton packs, you may want to get batteries and check them out. My Winston and Egon were pretty problem free, but Venkman and Ray both had some issues.

Nope. I remember them being a lot more flavourful and lighter, but now they seem crunchier and saltier.

Ah, so I'm not loosing my mind.
Every time I see a box I'm tempted to buy hoping that it will be just as good as I remembered.
Possibly there was a ban on that certain something that made them taste great or they modified them for a longer shelflife.

Great looking custom Cheez-its btw!
