So... when are they hitting stateside?

Probably end of October to early November, they haven't left HK yet, according to Toys, they'll probably ship out next week, so figure 3 weeks from Mid-October, then ship to retailers, then ship to us in the USA.

The guys look great to me. Not gonna rehash what has already been said, but I agree with most of the criticism. Once I get these guys, I will use the parts from my custom figures I currently have to update my GBII figures.

Nice review Toys! Just watched. All things considered this is a great set. Accessories look terrific and the sculpts range from excellent on the high end to just ok on the low. If ranking I would say

1) Ray
2) Egon
3) Venkman
4) Winston

Slimer looks good but undersized, but that may work in my favor as I was going to try using the diamond select terror dogs.

Curious why BW went with the “sneer” up lip look with Egon. The rest of the crew’s face sculpt appear somewhat neutral. Egon’s HS is great but that lip is distracting. Anyone have movie screen captures that BW might have used as reference!!

Just Ray and Egon for me then, Venkmans ok but his chubby and emotionless face leaves me a little underwhelmed.
I understand why people need him as part of the set though.

Pretty much what I got from them a while back. I hope they come through, from the review by I Am Toys, IMO they look immense!!

I assume that these will be released in stages for different markets? Forbidden Planet are at the end of the chain in this instance so it may not be anything to worry about (fingers crossed).... although they do have history :/

Never, never, never, never, never pre order from Forbidden Planet (either of them). They are ****ing useless.

One thing I'm concerned about is Ray's goggles potentially damaging the sculpt if left on for a long period of time.

Same here, really want to pose him with the goggles on and cig in his mouth.

Same here. Those goggles of his are just too essential to his look in the first film, he'd feel incomplete without them. It'd be almost comparable to displaying Nick Fury without the eye patch.

Many many many months ago someone posted a side by side comparison of the exact screen grab of Egon making the same face as the figure and the resemblance was uncanny and really put the sculpt into perspective. Unfortunately it was a long time ago and now that I think about it it may have actually been on the Blitzway GB vs Soldier Story GB thread if anyone still remembers that one...

Yeah he has that bit of a smerk just hard to capture the full expression Blitzway chose to sculpt him. Definitely there just not as extreme.

Good point.

Hmm... I wonder if there's a way to position the goggles so they are resting more on the hair than the face - hair would be a whole lot easier than skin color to touch up in future.
