Their 1/4 Iron man pieces have done nothing to command such prices up to this point. I like this thing, and I intend to buy it but only if the price is right. If we're getting into stupid prices of $650+, I'd rather just pay double and get an upcoming 1/3 Alien or Predator maquette from P1 personally.

Ironman statues in general look great. This looks great too and I will check in person at NY Comic con. For the time being I dont see anything appealing enough to make me jump at it, ie what does it have that the other Ironman statues dont? The pose is boring, the base is OKish, they could have made the base only the villain bigger bust. I say villain because its not clear its the iron monger or any of his other robots. The battle damage is really awesome and so does the paint. I understand people can have a collection of hot toys with every possible iron man but when it comes to statues at their premium I suppose something more is needed to make them shine on a collection. If I could have only one Ironman this one would not be the one. If I can have many this would probably be on the top 5.

Obviously Iron Monger on the base

Are they making a Robert Downey Jr. headsculpt on this one? Wishful thinking if it's just the helmet the price could be reasonable and not record breaking.

Imo it would be a mistake for Sideshow to do a unhelmeted headsculpt.

If they did one, given Sideshows recent track record on such things, it would be the major talking point of the statue. And not a good one.

Better to do the statue as is, and have the statue speak for itself, without any other distractions. Heck it's going to be hard enough for the factory to replicate that paint job. Since I started collecting nearly five years ago I don't think any of their production pieces have ever come close to matching the quality of the Legacy prototype.

On the Livestream it was confirmed that the light ups (statue and base) would be powered via batteries and/or by plug in.

I think it's perfect just how it is too. Cross fingers that they can deliver something resembling the prototype. That's a perfect pose to go with the avengers Hulk maquette. I had the neca iron man in 1/4 but it's a toy, moving on to this one in a year or so.

So basically, Sideshow can't get a likeness right so they shouldn't even bother trying, or they risk ****ing up the hype on this.

:lecture Sideshow listen up! :lol

I don't have any IM in my collection. I've been trying to snag the XM Mark VII but I've been hesitating due to the price. I went for SS Mark 7 but the pieces offered to me either has that noticeable slant in the chin or the lights no longer work. Regardless of the price, I will definitely get this one.

I'm definitely picking this up, and I own the XM Mark VII. If you get a chance pick up the XM one, it's spectacular and worth the price.

If it turns out similar to what we have seen. Best IM IMO, movie version I mean.

This statue looks awesome. The pose and sculpt are stellar.

However, like everybody else ...I hope this is priced reasonably. An outrageous price would just about kill this statue for me.

And I hope the production quality will be on par with the proto. Otherwise it'll be sent back for a full refund. The Iron Patriot debacle is not forgotten.
