Not biting on this Specialist set. If they release on its own the I'll get a few. If not, I'll sell my standard troops and buy a load of the Mafex version. The Figuarts are a bit under scaled anyway.

I normally prefer Figuarts over other lines, but I went Bandai Model kit with the Deathtroopers after getting a couple of the Figuarts versions. I got over the lightness of the models once I put them on the shelf :lol This is a gorgeous figure, but won't be grabbing it.

This DT Specialist pack is overpriced.I prefer to go with kotobukiya's deathtrooper 2 pack for 10.000 yen instead of this pack

Bummer on the DTS, was looking forward to that one. I'm thinking it will get its own stand alone release though.

Also, my MHtoyshop order with R1 trooper, scariff trooper and DT finally shipped on the 22nd.

P.S. If anyone is looking for Vader (with platform) let me know!

Regarding the DTS...I hope they release it separately...but after calming down a bit, let's think, didn't we see a release date on the figure of September? and this pack is scheduled to release when the BR/DVD comes out so maybe this is just an early release version and the figure will be sold separately in Sept?

I hope so.
Awesome looking figure! Hope to get it without the movie pack

Just looking at the figure release dates on the Tamashii site. Including Padme we will have had at least one Star Wars Figuarts per month for a year, and 17 figures in 12 months. Fantastic release pace!

If we assume that December and January will have a number of EPVIII releases, I expect the rest of the year will look something like this:

July - nothing
August - Stormtrooper Finn
September - Deathtrooper specialist
October - TFA Han
November - R2/3PO

Smudger9 do you have a link to this? I checked tamashii.jp site but September is blank...maybe the info is elsewhere?

Just speculation. And I'm not doing too badly!

I believe those are his release speculations. There hasn't been anything announced after July, when the droids will be released.

Ok cool thanks. I do hope you are right!!! Because it would make sense they release it by itself at a later day. That's when I would pick up a couple.
Getting it with the movie pack would be like an early bonus.

By the level of quality of the line, I think that the best R2-D2 in 6" scale will be the S.H.Figuarts, however (based on the height that Bandai indicates) I did the following comparisons with the image to which they refer and those of Hasbro and Kaiyodo:

I'm just interested in seeing how they will compare to the model kits. Not sure if it's worth the upgrade for me as those model kits are outstanding.

Hmm..Did anyone expect that Figuarts should've nailed R2 out of the park.. What's with Revoltech outshining in the paint work :thud:

The mafex droids still look the best. Look at the Phasma figures....only mafex get the chromed look right. If only SHF and mafex joined up!

I agree on the Mafex. R2 is so perfect. Theepio needed about 1/2 hour worth of Crazy Glue work tightening the joints and plugs and he's good to go. The finishing work on the droids is just fabulous.

Love how their C3PO isn't a cheap looking chrome like the out of the box model kit, but more like gold jewellery in its finish

That's usually my go-to photo for comparison too haha. But it's difficult to directly compare because the movie version sits much higher on his wheels, while the Figuarts looks to have flat feet. The movie R2 is also more in the foreground of that photo. Can't wait to see more pics of these 2 displayed!!

Mafex does have wheels, which are cool. And Bandai kits have the wheels in the mold. Revo's paint doesn't look so hot in hand, and feels way too big. R2 is kind of my jam, so I'm always up for checking out different versions lol

Just paid for Han and Kylo! Can't wait.

Also, anyone know if the blu-ray that comes with the DT specialist will be region free with the english 5.1 audio track? I'll cancel my Best Buy steelbook order and just get this then. Where is this going to be available online - the usual hlj, amiami, etc.?

Guys....a little help! I recently received another SHF from Ami Ami which has fused shoulder pieces so that articulation of the arm is much less...this is a defect and greatly compromises posing. It's the first time it's happened from SHF....in over 15 figures, most of which bought from Ami Ami. I contacted them and they requested a video of the problem and the invoice. This was duly done...then they asked for a YouTube video to see difference. So I sent a Skullface example. They have now said they can't see a difference and I should make a new video and send another invoice video. I've spent a fortune there and still have 4 figures to come. I followed all their requests, but now they reject these efforts and are stalling by adding more tasks to the list. I have asked for contact details of Ami Ami director to escalate my complaint and wish them to send a new figure at no cost to me.
Any help guys??
