Its obviously less movie accurate but due to the subdued lighting and rain there were times in the movie it did look more black than grey.

My sentiments as well.

I can see why some feel the BC looks more "film accurate" based on the lighting, but the suit was not intended to be black. It looks more black to me in the film when they're fighting outside in the rain then looks more grey once they get indoors.

Both versions are awesome though.

I thought that would be the case but i watched the whole fight seen on a very good TV that shows shadow detail extremely well . I think the original is the best version . Don't get me wrong , this black version looks fantastic too and if had the money I would love to own both.

Both versions look great to my eye but obviously I've had neither in hand yet.

Having both
I prefer the black chrome version, literally looks like it walked off the screen

No need to apologise, both look great but the black chrome looks better-its how you see it in the film more so in my opinion.
And it looks beastly on the shelf

I get that it's personal preference and all and the BC does look great...but to say it is "more screen accurate" is just silly. That promo shot is the only one i could find that matches the BC while i could post cap after cap of the more accurate version which is this one.

Yeah, i have this version waiting on me at my dads. It's a BDay present but he let me check it out for QQ reasons.

Loving this figure. Articulation is definitely limited however I would imagine he was also that limited in the movie in this costume and in the comic. Lol.

I'm sure the figure looks great on your shelf but there is no glossy finish on the armor in this picture and the darker look has to do with the photo itself, not the armor.
One thing I dislike with the BC version is that the glossy finish makes all the scuff marks and cuts look too pronounced and ultimately out of scale.
Preferring one version over the other is a matter of taste, it's personal.
Accuracy however is not a matter of taste and can be objectively assessed and measured.
The regular version has the same finish as the armor used in the movie (prop or CG), it is therefore more accurate.

I got into this same conversation with a guy at my comic book shop. The black crome parallels some of the fight scenes because of the rain and light reflecting on the actual armor, however just like you said, this version is what the armor is actually supposed to look like in the film. You see it multiple times.

As I've mentioned before, I can see why a lot of people feel the BC is the more accurate one because there are some scenes (particularly when they were fighting outdoors in the rain) where the suit appeared black. However, a lot of this is simply due to lighting and isn't the actual finish of the suit. Once they got indoors, you could see that the suit was more grey in color. As posted earlier as well by someone, when on display at conventions, the finish and color of the suit matches exactly what the regular version figure is.

This sort of brings up in my opinion another question though on accuracy. What is considered "accurate" now? How the suit is intended to look but doesn't necessarily reflect that on screen due to the tones and lighting used? Or how it actually comes across looking on screen, regardless of what the intended color is supposed to be?

For instance, the MoS suit. The colors of the suit in the film many times appeared very dark and muted, but the "actual" color of the suit (which I feel the stock MoS Supes figure reflects) was this:

So when we say "film accurate", do we mean what the actual colors of the suit are, or how they come across on screen due to various lighting effects and tone?

Although with the armored Batman suit, there are also several times on film where you can clearly tell the color of it is dark grey, as it actually is. It looks awesome in hand also the scuffs are no more pronounced than the regular version.
It's all subjective though, but for me the black chrome is the definitive version

Of course. It comes down to preference and both figures looks great.

Like mentioned though, I can see why some feel it's the more "accurate" one because due to lighting and effects, there are times in the film where it comes across as black. However, the actual color of the suit is grey, as shown in photos where the suit is on display and also during many points in the film.

Having both of course is ideal. For me personally, I don't see the point in having two Armored Batmans from a roughly 20 minute sequence in the film and the regular one is objectively the more accurate one to me.
