I guess I get why people want the spear but I could really care less about it personally. For the most part it was just fumbled with anyways. I think it'd fit better with a battle damaged version of the suit since that's mainly when Batman uses it.

I'm wondering if we'll see a BD version at SDCC. If we got a black chrome one, why not BD?

The only reason it seems iffy to me is because the film wasn't as well received that maybe we won't see as many figures. The figure would be fairly easy to do though given that the armored figure is coming. Just add the battle damaged parts.

There's no way I am paying for another armored Batman figure just to get that spear
I'd say NO to Hottoy's milking licence marketing strategy, hell to the NO!:cuckoo:

But...can you resist a Barely noticeable "battling version" movie promo edition that doesn't have changeable faces? Oh and it came with the spear?

I kid I kid.

But seriously...could you?

Meh I do think battle damaged figures have their place and often prefer them over just having interchangeable parts. Personally in this case I don't think I'd buy both (not sure I'll even get the regular) but I think it could be a decent offering.

To me, a BD Armord Bats seems more and more likely.

The spear is too much of a vital piece of the film to not include with any current BvS figure. It's likely being saved for an EX BD Armored Bats figure.

The HT spear would probably be pricey on the secondary market though being that it'd be an accessory for an EX figure, and I'd be willing to wager that custom made spears will probably have more detail in them anyway.

I like BD on my figures. Nicks, scrapes, broken parts, it makes for a striking and interesting visual. Also it's perfect for dioramas for those that make them.

But for a figure that's getting two separate releases, the BD NEEDS to be substantial enough y'know? It can't just be dirty knee caps haha. Like say if they released the inevitable BD armored batman figure, but NONE of the damage on the figure is what was seen on screen. Such as No half ripped off helmet, no VISIBLE damage to the chest and shoulder armor but a few nicks and scratches and...that's our BD batman??

I welcome BD figures...but if it's not visible or substantial, why bother releasing it?

Agreed. Like HT's fantastic Robocop figures. While the diecast version has interchangeable BD parts, the full-BD version is movie-accurate and so much different it warrants another purchase.

BD Armored Batman should have movie-accurate broken cowl, and Superman's hand mark "engraved" on his chest armor among other notable post-brawl damages.

That's a great example.

That's true.

While it's more convenient for the buyer to just simply include interchangeable BD parts, a separate specific BD figure tends to be more film accurate and more detailed.

My only concerns with this being bumped up is the issue with the faceplates and also I was leaning on a combo with the batsignal

An don't worry, we'll get more accurate faceplates with the "not so" battle damaged release!

Ok ok, that jokes getting old, I'll stop lol.

The cap America BV got me bad. I guess I'm still upset about it. Anyway...

In that upcoming pic, it may SEEM like it's different. But the pic is really small. All we can do is wait for Asia to get it first to confirm.

I'm not so sure if this is considered "bumped up". Sure SSC expected it later, but I believe it's Q3 right now as far as HT's schedule goes and I think they did schedule this figure for a Q3 release, no? Or was it Q4?

On SSC it says sept/oct. so Q3-Q4.

Ah who cares if it's bumped up right? The point is: we're getting a new batman figure real soon!! :hi5:

:goodpost: :exactly: :lecture
I'm really excited to get this guy. Out of all the figures I could've picked to buy from Batman v Superman, I'm glad I chose this one. He looks great.

From the zoom in you can kind of still make out the folds around the mouth which aren't close to Ben's likeness
I really don't get why the mouths are so different between the armored version and the regular one, they pretty much nailed it for the regular
I feel this will be the last one from the batch they showed to be released too so it'll likely be October for NA

Yea, I zoomed in on that 1/8 inch area too. The mouth is still off.

Lol

Legit though, took a screencap on my phone and it looks like the regular prototype faceplates, can't upload it til I get home though

It isn't a dealbreaker for me either way, but would prefer faceplates more like the regular version
