This is the Luke I always wanted. Now, hopefully either Sideshow or HT will do Hoth Leia and Bespin Han. I never got into Star Wars collecting, because nobody made these versions of the main characters. With this release it's time to finally jump on board.

This certainly captures the character of Han Solo in Ep VI. Hey, it's me.

Eh, a few of the Hasbro sculpts aren't bad. I'd argue the Hasbro 12" Yoda sculpt is better than the Medi and both Sideshow sculpts. If Silentsurfer had a shot at Hasbro's Tarkin, Dooku and Luke Jedi, they'd look decent - considering they're $20 children's toys from a couple of decades ago. Everyone's seen many Tarkin and Dooku repaints, so let's look at some others.

This is the Hasbro Luke Jedi painted by the Michaelangelo of these boards, yours truly, complete with clear gloss finish and lazy eye (yes, he's way in the back of the Jabba display)...

Yikes -- Hoth Leia. Sorry, man.

Yoda looks good, if a little sinister. "You will be.... you... will be."

I was being facetious though -- I don't think Hasbro sculpts really measure up to today's stuff, even the clearly inferior HT sculpts that have been the bane of the collecting hobby for so long.

Hasbro Yoda was a good looking figure straight out of the box. Simple articulation but very nice sculpt and paint.

He's the only Hasbro I still have left out on display.

The only Hasbro I have on the shelf is Garindan (with an upgraded cloak) since he pretty much looked like a really bad Halloween mask in the movie.

I would consider the Death Star Droid, Zuckuss, 4-LOM also (though I'm sure the SS ones will be better now).

I have a ton of Hasbro 12". Don't know what the hell to do with them now. Maybe donate to a hospital.

I'm saying it's not bad for a $20, twenty year old children's toy.:lol

And, well, it also depends on context...

With some work and extra parts Dengar can look good.

But there's a lot of them that fairly simply can be made to look decent - Emp's Royal Guard, the Ewoks, Jawas

And see what you can strip for future customs - I like my customized Hasbro Biker Scout better than the SSC Scout, and I like my Han ATST driver and Echo Base Trooper customs.

There's bits of great stuff mixed in with those buff bodies, goofy huge guns and short-sleeved clothing. But hey, I'm talking as a customizer.:dunno:lol

.

That's a very cool idea W-G! Many years ago I had to move and space was at a premium in my new flat so I ended up donating my Hasbro 12" collection to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital - MIB Han Tauntaun, Wampa and about 15 other MIB figures. It felt great - do it!

I am looking for redemption now... ok so this was Sideshow, and a repaint by guys from the same lab.
