Speaking of looks, Carrie Fisher's response on Twitter to people saying she hasn't aged well. Gotta love her attitude!
I don't blame her. If people are expecting her to look good as slave girl at 60 then are they really fans of the story? Some women still look great at 60 and age well. She didn't age great. So? She's still Leia and was great to see her back.
Ok here it is. I watched this with you guys in mind. So here are my impressions....
I will try to keep them in order.
Crawl says First Order rises from remains of Empire
Republic is reformed.
Resistance is a force fighting to keep the Empire from reforming
First order rose with help from the Dark Side.
Poe is astonished at the amount of people activity on the Star Destroyer....
Max Von Sydows character says the Map to Skywalker will help fix things.
Not all the Gang was eaten by the Rathnars, several are seen just being dragged around. Like Finn
Han gets REALLY upset at the mention of Luke. He try's to hide it (Kudus to Ford for his great acting here)
Maz has had Luke's saber for a "long time"
The door to the saber opens all by itself....
Rey is left with the Junk Dealer, you see his hands and hear his voice.
Kylo is scared of Snoke
Kylo rest his helmet in AShES
Hans jacket is blue and stays blue
Chewie hates the cold and worries Han will forget his Jacket
3pO says his need to re attach his arm.
Han says Kylo had too much Vader in him
Leia says we should never have "sent him away"
Han blames himself for Kylo, Leia blames herself.
Star killer wipes out the Republic and its fleet. In one shot.
Kylo Woke the force in Rey, he says " Don't be afraid , I feel it too."
You can hear 2 force thrums. One sounds like a heartbeat....it starts just before Rey tells Kylo he's afraid of not Being strong.
Reys first stab at the force fails 3 times
Kylo says Rey must be captured not killed.
Kylo says with each passing moment Rey will get stronger and stronger
Kylo says Rey has no idea how powerful she is.
Kylo turns dark as the sun goes out
Kylo is shot by Chewie's bowcaster which has thrown ordinary stormtrooper each time. He just goes to one knee.
Kylo is bleeding badly and limping (cut scene from trailer)
Kylo toys with Finn. Its no contest. He is definitely playing with him.
Rey was pulling Luke's saber not Kylo. He is confused why its not responding try's twice.
Kylo does not fight Rey, he chases her. One swing and she runs. Repeat.
Rey stabs with the saber (like Palpatine)
Rey hits more trees than anything.
Rey lets the force in and he blows become much much harder for Kylo to deflect.
Kylo was sweating like a pig / punching his wound to stay focused.
Rey cuts his leg/ stabs his shoulder
Rey cuts his saber in half
Kylo has both his hands
Snoke says get Kylo he is READY to COMPLETE his training.
The planet turns into a star returning light to the system (neat!)
LUKE IS DEFINITELY STANDING OVER A GRAVE
Luke recognizes the saber right away
BUT he get tears in his eyes looking at Rey
Next post impression of what this all means.....

Random questions after a 2nd viewing, both regrading the part at Maz's.
One of the banners flying/hanging on the outside is the same skull symbol that Boba Fett has on his armour. Does anything in the star wars universe use this symbol or is there a chance that Boba is in for a comeback?
The fat alien hanging out on the couch with the girl who calls in the FO, is he meant to be one of the bounty hunters from ESB? His feet and pants look the same

Yes, that's the Mandalorian symbol. The Mandalorians or "Children of Mandalore" were a nomadic group of clan-based people consisting of members from multiple species and multiple genders, all bound by a common culture.

I figured he retired and got fat.
Just watched this again..... ENJOYED IT MUCH MORE THE SECOND TIME...
Still wish the music was better and I wish the blasters sounded more like the original films (they sound more like trek movie lasers). I still don't care for the cantina scenes.
That's about it... I liked everything else...
A few observations this time... Sorry if its been pointed out...
Rey is a Jason Bourne type character. She always seems surprised by what she can do... She does not know how she flew the falcon so well... She seems shocked by how well she shot the blaster when she killed the trooper, her force powers etc.... My guess is her memory has been wiped. I don't think she is Luke's daughter... Too obvious... But perhaps a former student that may have been just too strong in the force..
R2 awakens after Rey arrives on the planet. Is this a plan by Luke?? He obviously put part of the map in R2. R2 awakes after Rey shows up.. Perhaps Luke did not want to be found until Rey found her way to the resistance / Leia.
Kylo's speech about being in pain and afraid about not being able to do what he has to and needing Han's Help... First time I thought he meant he needed Han's help bring him to the light side... Nope He meant he was afraid he could not do what he needed (kill his father) to take that final step to the Dark side... It's why he thanks his father. You could view it both ways but Kylo's training was not complete... He needed to do something unredeemable to take the next step and Snoke stated that this would be a hard test (or something like that)
Anyways much better the second time... Still my 4th fav but much closer to my 3rd place (ROTJ) then I thought originally.

Yup yup, movie improved big time for me
Very similar to ROTJ, a mix of great, good and weak.
PT were the equivalent of hitting baby seals on their skulls with hammers.
TFA is like taking a baby seal away from his mother and keeping it as a pet, much less offensive.

Which is why Han turned on the lightsaber. He bought Ben more time. That's what Ben thanks him for, because he couldn't do it on his own.

I'm gonna keep an eye out when I watch it again, that's some ****ed up **** 
Han turned on the saber? How did I miss that? I thought he assumed Kylo was offering it to him but Kylo wasn't letting go so han tried to pull it away and that is when Kylo activated it and killed him...

Hunh, Han didn't turn it on, not of his own free will anyways. There was a mini struggle going on.
