I'm so glad I somehow got to see this spoiler free.

Before TPM I used to post on alt.fan.starwars and some jerk started a thread with the title "DARTH MAUL KILLS QUI GON, THEN OBI-WAN KILLS DARTH MAUL" and then again in 2002 I saw a post titled "MACE WINDU KILLS JANGO FETT." Needless to say I was more upset about the TPM spoiler because that was prior to release and for all I knew it would be the best film ever. :lol

But man somehow that didn't happen with TFA thank God.

It was fun being surprised that:

Spoiler Spoiler:

People just need to let the new trilogy play out over another two movies.
People just need to
People just need to
People just need to
People just need to

(There's always one in every crowd.) :mwaha

/\How many times was this said in 1999 after Episode 1 was released? :rolleyes2

Everyone knew where 2 and 3 would lead to though, the expectation was there. No-one knows anything about how this new trilogy will end. People don't have to invest their time into watching the new SW movies, no-one's forcing them too.

Yeah, and I liked the little peeks we got into "Trooper" life that TFA gave us. You know, if you're a soldier and you're struggling with something the Empire isn't "how can we help one of our own," but rather "hmm we should probably get this guy's conformity evaluated." And just how strict they are with how taboo it is to remove your helmet indoors, in a secure base, for even just a few seconds. You see how it all ties together and how the helmets are clearly a big part of "trooper conformity" but they revealed those things so organically. They didn't stop and just have someone give a lecture on how things are done.

Rey is not overpowered. I really don't know what is so hard to understand. Some must have failed school here or just can't accept that someone is stronger than Luke..... who was literally the weakest Jedi in the saga.

Finally got a chance to see it. Loved it, and can't wait to see where the next movies take these new characters. So much to digest, need to see it again.

I also liked how the Stormtrooper training paralleled the Jedi training of the prequel era. Taken from birth, separated from family, trained for a single purpose. It makes me think that this series will be about stripping the Force down to it's roots and eliminating the biased dogma of both sides. Luke isn't sitting on his ass in exile. Han pointedly mentions the rumor that he is searching for the first Jedi temple. He's looking for a way to truly bring balance, not just delay another Dark Side/ Light Side war, IMO

Did no one have a problem with Poe naming Finn after he helped him escape?

Not at all. He literally didn't have a name. Poe designated that as his placeholder nickname and FN-2187 liked it so much he apparently adopted is as his real name.

I could totally see a fighter jock christening a new recruit with a nickname/callsign/whatever.

Did no one have a problem with Poe naming Finn after he helped him escape? It just seemed a little..hmm... weird...I'll leave it at that.

No. FN2187 never had a name. First person he meets not from the First Order is Poe. Everyone deserves a name so Poe calls hims Finn, using FN. Not weird at all. Would you call someone by a identification number? That would be weird.

I guess, it's just the way it all happened, and Finn saying, "I've never had a name" and Poe was like, "I will call you Finn..." or whatever it was. It all seemed fishy to me, with him on the run and all :lol

I thought everything about Poe was so natural. He's a confident military man. He was quick to bond with his only ally. Loved it.

And holy-cow are those guys in the KR figure thread sensitive about their man-crush. :lol

I thought Poe and Finn had good chemistry and they seemed like real friends...when they see each other again. Same with Finn and Rey, good chemistry.

I loved their reunion, even before, when BB-8 practically runs Finn over to get to Poe. I've seen some complaints that Poe is one-note but I think his limited screen-time is the cause. I hope we see more of his story in the future. Looks like he may be teamed up with Finn more while Rey shoots the **** with Luke.
