So just to derail a bit. A buddy of mine thinks she^ is awful looking.

But he thinks Sophie Turner V is all that.

Something seems off with her face. It's the scale of the eyes, nose, and mouth, I think it's all too small and crowded in the lower area of her face. I can't help it, so I made a quick PS edit.

Definite improvement.

Seriously though she isn't hideous but given the choice between Laura Vandervoort at 19 and Sophie Turner at 19 I don't think Sophie has a chance.

Laura Vandervoort is indeed gorgeous, but suggests cheerleader/professional model/Vegas showgirl, rather than the girl-next-door relatable qualities SS seems to be going for. It's the same reason a sweet, down-to-Earth type without overt bombshell attributes was selected for the new TV series... personality over demonstrative sex appeal. Maybe SS feels that if you want to go the glamor-bimbo route, there's always their overstuffed Power Girl PF as an option.
