I've never seen anything like it!
- I mean Shipping to the UK has always been high, but they actually must be high to expect people to take that type of quote seriously!

I've e-mailed them to query it, as that can't be right! :(
- I do want this one.

I have a contact in the US which I could potentially use and even that address quoted in at $85.20 :gah:

I really hope so!
- Looks like it's 5 in the am in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, so I might get a response later on today.

This really looks like a great piece. If I didn't have so much other stuff ordered I would jump on it--but the shipping is ridiculous. Hope it's not actually that much for those ordering it.

That's what I have been wondering, but even so - Something doesn't seem right. I'm no expert (far from it) when it comes to domestic US shipping, but the prices quoted which appears to be a standard enough piece seem extortionate.

But yeah, maybe the estimated weight is heavier then one might expect :dunno

Cinemaquette doesn't get any shipping discounts like most US retailers do. I have told ECC this and asked them to consider using a different distributor in the states. I predict that they won't change cause both companies are basically the same, but I did make it aware to them that these shipping rates are ridiculous for such a small piece and that there are a fair amount of unhappy customers about all of this. Imagine the shipping on their upcoming Hulk.

just got the response, they said it's an error in calculation. My shipping to NJ was $96, email said it should be about half of that and will be corrected before my cc is charged. For those living on the west coast, i would imagine it's even less.

:goodpost: I guess it's easy to forget the likes of SSC get better rates due to their contract with FedEx and this isn't always the case with all suppliers / sites.

I just got a response!

Hello Dan,

We currently do not ship to the UK or anywhere else outside of N.
America. This is probably why the shipping calculator is coming up with
this price. Please contact one of our local dealers in Europe at the
where to buy link on our site. They will be able to forward you to a
retailer who can service you.

Regards,
Cinemaquette.com

This does explain a lot!
- Looks like I'm going to have to ask my if my US contact will take delivery for me.

If I remember right my CM Vader shipping was only like $60 or so back a few years so figured this was an error. Glad they verified it was an error.
