no I get the feeling that moving forward these PFs were will be more elaborate in presentation. (better bases almost like dioramas) - the cost will be justified if they can actually deliver a solid - well painted product.

I'd love to see Classic Cyclops with Classic Marvel Girl or Phoenix, Nightcrawler, Classic Psylocke, Havok, 80s Storm, Magneto, Dazzler, Jubilee etc etc

Wolverine head sculpts seem to all have slight issues IMO... The only one I really love is the original Comiquette. The LSF is nice but sort of boring.. The XM always looked a little like Bird man... The Nose of his mask is too big and goes down to far thus a bird like appearance. The Original PF is nice but something is off with that also... This one is almost there... It's not the lips for me but the high cheekbones or something... I like it overall though... But no more and no less then many of the others out there.

Yep. I think every fan dreams of having all those characters from that era in the same d**n scale. It'll be a bummer that it'll be at the current price points if we do see that line up come to fruition. But I'd be more worried about Disney interfering with SS' artistic vision in a negative way like they did with Jean and Emma.

Phoenix and Wolverine were relatively brand new sculpts so we can at least expect those two to be more updated products since they've been in design phase last year or so.

Exactly Ink. I like both portraits enough that I think SS should just fast track this statue for release. Any further tweaks on the heads, the Danger Room base, and for metal claws may delay or shelve this statue until the X-men licensing issues get resolved. Customs heads will be available.

God I would absolutely lose my **** if they had Phoenix, Magneto with a majestic and dynamic pose, and a fully sculpted retooled Byrne-era Cyclops in one glass case. I know that I'd kill to have someone like John work his magic on my reg Cyclops and convert that to the classic suit. Maybe wishful thinking on my part though. :(

Not wishful thinking on just your part. There are many peeps that would LOVE to be able to add an 80s Byrne X-MEN PF lineup to their collections. I'd open my wallet wide for that.

I agree with you on the Wolvie COMs head sculpt Jaws. For me, it's the best classic Wolvie statue I have ever seen. I'm glad I have that piece representing the character in my collection.

I personally like the new brown sculpt more than the Comiquette sculpt. For me, head sculpt-wise, it's:

Yellow/blue PF > brown PF > XM Studios > Comiquette > original Wolverine PF

I don't think Disney demanded for them to sculpt Jean and Emma with a completely screwed anatomy, boring poses and ugly face sculpts, honestly. It seems that "the other" Jean Grey that was approved in 1:4 scale has none of these issues, but whatever.

Does anybody think they are going to use metal claws rather than polystone? I've asked SSC but got 2 diff answers....

Yeah I hate when they dont use metal when they should. The only one I have that they did was the Freddy vs Jason Jason PF on the machete

Not sure I understand which is the yellow/blue PF and which is the original PF - ?

If it's based just on head sculpt, my ranking would be:

Comiquette>XM Studios>Yellow/blue PF>brown PF

I'm a little biased cuz I own the XM one now but the comi does have the nicest masked portrait IMO. It just felt a little undersized to me...1/5th right? The PJ PF was pretty good except the pjs just didn't do it for me. Brown PF has a nicer sculpt, base then the pj PF but the heads aren't there for me. I really love the sculpt on the XM one as well as the base and all the details so it gets my vote as the best wolverine overall...the comi is a close second if it weren't for the scale. This brown one would be pretty high if the heads were comparable to the XM one or the comi one.

I'm guessing the Logan PF
Yeah, this is the first Wolvie PF:

But they did nix the chalice and bustier on Emma, the lower half of Jean's pose was reworked to a more static one, and is why we'll never see a cigar associated with Logan again in the near and distant future.

Disney also nixed the chalice in the XM Medussa. I find it a little annoying because these are adult collectibles being bought by comic readers who understand the characters. I drink and lord knows my wife drinks. Heck the kids know. It just feels a little naive and makes me feel like im buying something from the Disney store
