Why would a team pay a $1million fine a and lose a 1st and 4th round draft pick if they were innocent? That's a big price to pay if there is no evidence

There's the fact that legal options were limited, because the League's covenants foresaw this kind of thing, and do a very good job of preventing it. Success may have been possible on some novel legal theory, litigated in scorched-earth style, but would have come at a terrible cost, financially, emotionally, and in terms of the organization's focus. In the end Bob Kraft isn't Al Davis.

Kraft is philty rich. He was the one Demanding an apology from the NFL and wasn't gonna back down. He knows they cheated just like we all do. They just need to admit and be done with it. Or it was the "deflater's" own idea lol. Oh I'm sorry the deflater was his name because he was "overweight" lol.

:rotflyea but it only affected the patriots footballs and not the colts must be different from one sideline to the other
Has it been even documented that the colts balls started at the exact same PSI? I am fairly certain they said that colts balls also lost PSIs but didn't end up below the limit.

Also Kraft is smart enough to know that one his team is worth 2B dollars. He know that the reason for that is the leagues growth. He know continuing the fight is not got for the league and in turn not good for him in the long run.

But in the second half the balls stayed the same psi. All America knows they cheated. Patriots know they cheated. You both know they cheated just admit it. If they ain't guilty why not fight till the end So there is no doubt in the end that would be better for patriots and NFL it would show that they never cheated and that Goddell was just trying to tarnish their organization. But NO THEY DID IT BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY CHEATED

And further why doesn't Tom Brady cooperate so his name could get cleared. If you were accused of something you DIDNT do wouldn't you do every thing you could to clear your name?

Is it just me or is “deflategate” one of the worst scandals in sports history? We have things like point shaving, game fixing, steroids and then you get to…. deflated footballs…. UGH. Its equal to a pitcher scuffing a baseball and its turned into the worst thing that’s ever happened. BORING.

There are no post halftime readings in the report.

Obviously no answer can satisfy you.

I agree in a way it might be small but it does give a competitive edge if you can grip the ball better in cold weather conditions. And cheating is cheating I think the bigger picture is the cover up. I mean come on just be men and admit it.

It's beyond ridiculous. The Panthers/Vikings were found doctoring balls during a game in November. The punishment was a slap of the wrist and a stern "don't do it again". The Patriots are accused of the same thing and without hard evidence the book is thrown at them. I don't think the majority of America gives 2 ****s about .02 psi, but they do care about seeing the hated Patriots taken down a notch.

Yes they did test the footballs in the second half and they stayed the same psi its in the report. The truth would satisfy me. Innocent people would do anything they can to prove their innocence.

In the Wells Report it said only 4 Colts balls were tested due to time constraints. 3/4 balls were under the 12.5 limit. This along with a litany of other instances really poke major holes in the whole thing.

This article from the Washington Post really nails the entire thing. Goodell went draconian with his punishments to assert his authority.
In trying to restore his authority through DeflateGate, Roger Goodell undermined his credibility - The Washington Post

I'll be glad when Goodell is gone

Seriously you think he should have handed over his phone. That thing could be a goldmine.

Maybe because he doesn't give a ****? No ones cares, why should he.

Only people who care is the media, pats haters and but hurt seagull fans like you.

This is such a non issue like Darth a Madden said, what will you say when they win again? Find another excuse? Worry about what the seagulls are doing and not what the pats because it doesn't matter.

20 years from now you think anyone looks back at this and says, to but that deflate scandal shows the pats were garbage? Hell no, just like no one cares about the juicers in baseball, all they remember was how interesting baseball was when it was going on.

The weird thing is back when they won 3 SB's I hated Brady and the Pats but for some reason I've kind of softened in the last few years. I still don't like them but I don't HATE them anymore. Even wining the SB last year over my Hawks didn't make me hate them.
