Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings APR15 for $20 off

Sooo is this $25 code brand new or one that's been around?

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings APR15 for $20 off

No good Star Wars deals anywhere. Very disappointing.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings APR15 for $20 off

Deals? Haha! Star Wars is owned by Disney now. There will be no deals.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings APR15 for $20 off

Give it time to collect dust in the warehouse. Marvel is Disney owned too.

May the 4th and nothing for Star Wars.....
See you in October Hoth figures

I was shocked as well. There has been so many good Marvel deals, I thought for sure there would be some great SW deals, at least on battle droids or other shelf-warmers. The $25 discount isn't as good as previous 20% off coupons. I thought for sure we'd get 30% on stuff like that! They had a ton of contests at least, but I won't bank on winning any of those. The Force isn't strong with me anymore... I'll be ready for deals with Spooktacular. Last year, I didn't buy much since I owned everything I wanted already. This year, I may lay low on in-stock items until Spook, then buy a TON!

Where's the FAQ on whether flex pay items have cancellation fees if cancelled before first payment is charged? :slap :lol

Looks like it's nothing until the first payment charges:

I keep seeing static poses of people like this:

and while it looks absolutely amazing, it doesn't sell me as much as an action pose:

so it always leaves me hesitant and wondering if the figure can achieve those poses... :dunno:

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings APR15 for $20 off

Feels like HT is now mass producing almost all their figures, there's no need to pre-order anything lately. I'm waiting for a huge % off Star Wars sale too so I can pre-order all the EpIV figures...

:goodpost: I don't quite understand the appeal of static poses. I get that they're easier to manage (and don't damage any figure parts), but action poses seem much more interesting when you're talking about characters from action movies. Fortunately, many of the HK bloggers do a good job of showing off the figures' range of motion in their pictures.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings APR15 for $20 off

I've convinced myself to try more extreme action poses if the figure's articulation and wardrobe allows for it, I'm taking a chance on the Thor figure and not cancelling, hopefully I attain something that hasn't been done yet. I do get the regular standing pose for some figures and it works, but at the same time they're toys and I like to play with them (without breaking them if I can, haha ) :wink1:

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings APR15 for $20 off

I take it back- there are some good standing poses for certain figures. It's the museum standing poses with arms straight down that are my pet peeve. Then again, I also treat these figures like toys; except they're much more expensive than the toys I grew up with, which I try to forget each time I "mess up" one of my figures. But good luck with the Thor figure! I remember reading that it had some rather limited articulation, so hopefully you can get it into some nice new poses.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings APR15 for $20 off

Are there any current promo codes for SSC?. Thanks in advance

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings APR15 for $20 off

I have mine posed fairly close to the dark world promo poster that you posted. Only difference is he is standing as I do not have a flight stand.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings APR15 for $20 off

Quick photo I took the day I got him. I have since posed him a little more "actiony" now that I got over the fear of bending his elbows.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings No May code yet

I could use the new Batman Returns figure, are there really no codes at the moment?

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings No May code yet

I don't think you will be able to use any codes on the Batman Returns figure for at least a couple months.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC and other random rumblings No May code yet

Yeah, no worries. I expect the Batman set will still be available for preorder in a couple months. I need a turtle neck for Keaton.

You'll be waiting a while... They missed their opportunity with May 4. The $25 coupon on in-stock items was only Luke-warm (get it?). 20% off coupons would do much better. I'm really surprised. No GC's were handed out at Celebration, either. I really thought they would...
