It's far from over-the-top though. It's basically Vader with added details, which is far from the more extreme designs they've pulled. There's so many vanilla Vaders out there that something a little original is more than welcome (I also like Bandai's samurai Vader even though it's pricey). Besides, Square is essentially selling the FF-styled Japanese look and in that regard, the PAK figure most definitely succeeds. For a good $90, that's fine by me.

I like it. I'm not fond of having the same damn character with the same designs in different scales. I like having variety in my collection. This is a different enough rendition of Darth Vader that got my attention.

:exactly: :lecture I personally think it looks great and I'm sure I'm not alone on this. I say let the companies be more creative with old properties like these, a little bit of variety in my collection would be nice. Plus, I'd be curious to see Square's take on other characters (for better or worse).

I mean let's be honest, it's not like there's a shortage on Vader figures out there. :lol

i actually prefer the old Play Arts standard & style, sure Play Arts Kai are bigger in size, more detailed, however it feels like an articulation improved McFarlane figure, but i actually prefer McFarlane's usual matt finishing on their paints. also the soft rubber they like to use makes them feel abit cheap.

That is a solid argument, the problem is the vast majority of Play Arts figures have no other interpretation what so ever. Personally i think the 8-10 inch scale is ideal for figures and PlayArts are the only ones doing it. They also have great potential but are completely inconsistent on design and QC

Let's not forget about the random increases in height.

And, what about that Bat-cape? :lol

Cant stand the way PAK do this with their figures. The Batman cape looks stupid.

It's the same reason i didn't buy their Supergirl figure, it was just their Wonder Woman figure with variations. It's just ****ing lazy on their end.

and that didnt come with a sword either :ohbfrank:

That was out late December in Japan. Might be this month for NA retailers, they are always a month behind. Im gonna try and resist the urge to try and get the entire AC cast. Tifa and Cloud should be it for me.. and Sephiroth if that is ever released.

Me too. although much later than everyone else

It's TPP BB next for me at the end of this month

Just Cloud for me. Maybe Sephiroth if they come out with him.

And hell, Fenrir would be insane too. Especially if it opens up, and his blades can be stored inside. One can dream. At this scale, Fenrir would probably be as big as the lightcycle? Maybe bigger?

If the bike front opened up to sheath the weapons then i would

If it's just a bigger version of the play arts one then I'll keep that instead, that still hold up really well

I'd only end up having to buy another Cloud to put on it, as I'm certain Sephiroth is on his way

I can't bare to think i'd be shelling out almost $600 on 2 Clouds and the Fenrir :horror
