Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread 'COMING SOON' MY CUSTOM WOLVERINE LSF ALTERNATE HE

Wow, it has been a while since my last visit. Time to get crackin'!
Okay so the Iron Patriot Lifesize Bust arrived last week from Sideshow Collectibles but unfortunately upon unpacking this huge beast of a bust, my excitement had swiftly changed to disappointment in a matter of minutes :(

There's no denying that this this IP bust is an awesome sculpt...its pretty much having the real guy at home in your living room and once you've attached the shoulder cannon, you begin to feel its presence and realise just how massive this collectible is! However, that is where the fascination ends because the paint apps are really poor, dull, matte, flat...it just doesn't stand out or pop like its supposed to. Whilst I realise that IP wasn't incredibly shiny looking in the movie, the paint apps that have been applied make it look more navy dark blue - which is far too dark!

Sorry to hear about the paint work and some of the issues that came along with it. The piece looks ****ing sick in your pictures, but none the less it had it's issues. I admit the gun addes a ton of presence to it, but the lack of shoulders makes the piece look a little awkward. It's a good thing you managed to get your refund. Not worth the hassle, when you already spent 1K on the piece. Hopefully it wasn't a must have in teh collection :lol
The Superman head looks awesome, I enjoy the noodles from the EX, so I"ll stick with that, but none the less a light up will be sick. If Darkseid is the finally announcement of 12 Days, a light up on that bad boys will be a must! :horror

The Punisher head also looks awesome, another good one in the books of Spazzy. Can't wait to see the re-paint.
I mentioned it over on the Allied Cap thread, but the shield is really amazing brother! I loved the battle damage, but the clean one was also really great. A good grab for sure! :hi5::duff

:thud::thud::thud:

No words on this mate. Spazzy ****ing killed it! :clap

Drop the mic Spazzy, cause that **** is amazing. I love the piece, Andy! Looks amazing, now to see that deadpool huh? :wink1:

Merry Christmas to all you fellow freaks out there :Santa hope your having a great holiday :)

While we wait for the 1/2 scale Hall of Armour to finally arrive (whch will finally be shipped out today) :rock I thought I'd update you guys with a recent acquisition of mine that I was really happy to pick up :) Take away Iron Man, my next favourite character in the Marvel Universe is Spiderman and as the owner of one of my favourite Spidey Collectibles in the market, which in my opinion is the Sideshow Spiderman Comiquette, I couldn't pass on a customized version of it...but this time as the black Symbiote Spidey :)

This piece is just an amazing looking statue! I didn't think I would like it as much as I do due to being the same pose and base of the original red/blue version but the black Repaint just gives it a whole different look and I have to say, I'm actually preferring this version over the original :lol

Looks absolutely amazing, can't deny it's a great piece as a classic, but I always had a love for Symbiote Spidey Suit. Looks absolutely amazing, maybe time to get a third one for a Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider variant. :naughty :wink1: :lol

I am actually really jealous of this. :lol

Great piece no doubt! :rock:rock
Coming soon....Superman PF Custom Portrait with Light Up eyes :)

RobertoBagg10's Display Thread 'COMING SOON' MY CUSTOM WOLVERINE LSF ALTERNAT...

Happy New Year guys!!! Hope 2015 brings you all the collectibles your after :rock

So I thought I'd share 2 recent purchases as my first update of 2015 and one which includes a project I've been working on with a fellow artist/sculptor. Now, we all know that the majority of Sideshow LSF's, if not all of them, are pretty much overpriced right...well in my opinion one of those I would definitely agree was overpriced is the Wolverine LSF. At one point Sideshow were teasing us with images of two alternate headsculpts involving their Wolverine LSF but neither of these actually made it and so were left with just the one portrait :( When you start to go through each LSF Sideshow have released, there has always been something extra other than the statue which you could say was included in the $2K price tag...such as:

Iron Man MKIII and MVII LSFs = Light up Feature
Wolf Predator LSF = Alternate Masked Portrait
Dr. Doom LSF = Alternate switchout Masked/Unmasked Portraits/Gauntlets
Obi Wan Kenobi / Darth Maul LSFs = Light up Feature

So with that in mind, I decided that the Wolverine LSF needed an alternate head! Now I know we've already seen a custom portrait made for the Wolverine already, which was the unmasked one sculpted by Troy McDevitt I believe, however, for me personally, I much prefer my Wolverine to be masked as that's how I remember him in my world so wanted to design a new head but with an alternate expression and one that befits what Wolverine is all about...so basically a more snarly look to it with attitude! ;) So after researching many pics from comics and sketching down different designs, a fellow artist and acquaintance of mine who has done work in the past for me, came up with this design which I felt suited the character perfectly and just the look I was after...here are some original WIP pics :)

After a few tweaks here and there the final cast was complete :) and finally received the unpainted portrait about a week ago

So now the final steps are being made to complete this new portrait as it has been shipped already to our very own freak (Darkspidey) aka Kevin to put the icing on the cake and give this portrait the best paint apps it deserves :) Once I receive some WIP pics from Kevin i'll update the thread for sure ;)

However, there was one that was already pre painted by the artist as an example and as you can see, once painted it really does show off the classic Wolverine look!!

Now for my second update, I go back to my favourite subject that is Iron Man and my eagerly awaited second instalment of the 1/6 scale Avengers Diorama by Iron Studios :rock After receiving the first set back in July/August which was the Avengers Hulk, this second set took a long time coming but one day before New Years Eve I received it!! So for this Iron Man MKVII set, we saw for the first time an Exclusive version announced and that basically featured a Battle Damaged version of the MKVII which was I guess made to a) make Iron Studios more money! :lol and b) to offer the collector a different version of the MKVII but one which suit the New York Battle Scene much better and also give it a more realistic look.

Thankfully, I managed to snag both versions and I was just overwhelmed by what I saw when unpacking them for the first time! I started with the regular clean version and was incredibly surprised at how well it was painted and how the metallic colours of the red and gold really caught my eye! This was such a relief after the disaster paint apps that we'd seen early last year with their rendition of the MK42 armour from the Iron Man 3 movie :( What an improvement to the MKVII!!! WOW!!! :horror but not just the paint apps, the detailing on the armour was also superb and the light features just make this Iron Man piece complete! A really beautiful piece all round. The Chitauri Soldier also ads to this magnificent display...his dynamic pose depicts a cool scene from the Avengers Movie as Stark takes out a whole army of Chitauris single handedly!

As for the Battle Damaged version, well once again Iron Studios have made a much more improved effort over some of their previous releases, the paint apps certainly kick Sideshows ass when it comes to battle damage application :lol not 100% perfect mind you as certain areas (notably around the leg area) does become a little too excessive at times but the effect is certainly made to look realistic and show that the MKVII suit has indeed been in an epic battle!!! Still, its a great option to be able to interchange between the two and I'm so happy to have them both :) Enough chat, here are the pics....

Wow those projects look amazing Andy, especially the Iron Man diorama! :horror

The custom LSF Wolverine head sculpt is definitely an improvement and I can't wait to see it on the LSF body. :yess:

Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread 'NEW DOUBLE UPDATE' IRON MAN AND WOLVERINE UPDATES

The Wolverine LSF custom head is really a nice addition! The plain face he has on the regular is just meh, but now, it gives him some GRRRRR!!!!

And for Iron Man, those 2 are WONDERFUL release by Iron studios.
But everytime I see pictures of how awesome those are, I just Wonder how come they botched so badly their first MK42... :gah:

Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread 'NEW DOUBLE UPDATE' IRON MAN AND WOLVERINE UPDATES

Fantastic updates Andy! I really like the custom Wolverine portrait. Congratulations on these major acquisitions! :clap

Re: RobertoBagg10's Display Thread 'NEW DOUBLE UPDATE' IRON MAN AND WOLVERINE UPDATES

Damn the wolverine head is the best I've seen! Iron man is also very dynamic and cool! I'm telling you need a museum for all these custom statues. Lol great job!
