Finally!!! Feels like I've been waiting Forever for a Realistic Real Fur 1/6 Chewie!!
I can Finally put away my Cartoony Hasbro Furry Chewbacca!!

The situation isn't too clear. Single Han is the only listing that has the orange 'Exclusive' tab on the page.

Yet the photo for Han and Chewie says 'For selected markets'.

With the Rocket and Groot two-pack there's exclusive bits, but the set itself wasn't exclusive to Sideshow.

Interesting... I didn't know about the Groot and Rocket 2-pack, well I guess you still get $24 back in RP, so at least for me it's still better to go through Sideshow. But anyone in state would do well to order from BBTS.

I'm going to need shampoo to clean this figure... Acrylic cases FTW!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 262 - Star Wars Episode IV - 1/6th scale Chewbacca Collectible...

I am having issues logging in after my last 'chewie needs work' post and granted I posted too emotionally. Sorry all. Not sure if I am in 'trouble' or whatnot. However, there is nothing wrong with having a critical eye especially considering a set of these two will be at least $479 (cheaper than I thought for sure) . Few here complain just to complain. Anyone can look back at my posts and see that is certainty not the case. I don't know if some of you are just so happy that these were announced that you are not really looking with your eyes, but they need work.

HT has shown in the past improvements are often made from their protos to their final production. I am hopeful Chewie and Han are no exception. Everyone freaked when early pics when Bespin Luke hit and he looked great. Why was it ok to be critical then now not ok now? There is a double standard at the moment and I am more perplexed than anything.

Let's talk reality:

Chewie's fur looks great, and the overall look of his body looks great.Accessories looks fantastic. Moving on to the issue. Its the head. Specifically from the nose, to the eyes, to the brow area. It needs work and what we are seeing looks 'Chewbacca like' but it could use tweaking. If some of you read this and get from it, 'trolls gonna troll' then I can't help how to interpret a response like this one.

Han's body, material of clothing and weapons/accessories look fantastic. The head from the chin to the nose is dead on. The likeness is lost in the eyes and the overall structure of the jaw. Remember the proto of the T1000? It was off too, and yet fixed. Han needs work. If the price is $300 plus (god help us on that) but perfection is going to be expected.

Now, can we stop disrespecting board members that are being fairly critical?

Chewy is 14.18 inches tall... I think it will be a fairly easy mod to make him 15". The legs look to be the right length, but I think adding to the torso and neck could fill in the extra height nicely.

2 figure set is $480...

With Rocket and Groot Sideshow created their own exclusive at a later stage by adding the armless baby Groot.

As a few people have suggested, they could well add Chewie's handcuffs to the set to create a SS Ex.

Ordered 2-pack from SS. If it comes on time it will be a nice birthday present for me in April.

We should really see some binders for chewy.

Will certainly get Chewbacca, not sure on Han yet. Being based in the UK means I will wait and see what the costs are here.

if they hadn't done that I would have ordered Han w/o the NRD and waited for a $20 code for both of them... but now Sideshow get's $40 more of my money, but I get $5 off and a blaster :lol

That's one of my plans: discount Han and Chewie individually with $20 off coupons. To counteract the CA tax I pay -- it's really breaking even for me.

Plan B is to go with my Full Set order at BBTS: no tax, no points, and potentially a month's delay from when Sideshow delivers. But I get that damn rifle.

I'm all for tweaks and adjustments in both figures (although I'm happy with Chewie as is), but I'm not holding my breath.
The tailoring and material on Han make it very hard to resist. I already upgraded my Sideshow Han to a HT body, which makes a world of difference, and had a friend do a couple of tweaks on the paint apps, but the tailoring of the suit is just off, there's no going around that.

Do it! You can always cancel without penalty, so long as you don't buy the set, right?

Ordered chewy...........skipped han

why the hell do I even bother with making customs when I turn around and buy the figure that a company puts out............:duh

Ordered the pair individually and avoided the NRD. I anticipate a delay with Chewie and TBH I'll probably cancel him and get it from Timcent when it is released because I have no patience.
