For me, that is the Assassin's Creed series. Seven years and 214 subsequent sequels later (or so), have always left me asking myself, 'what if it is AWESOME?" When it first hit, I didn't think I was into Stealth based type games. The MP in Last of US has taught me otherwise. Now, the completist in me demands I start with the first title. Was gonna go for Steam, but first one doesn't seem to support Windows 7, so got a cheap copy from Gamestop for the 360.

The Gamestop Dude there today was like, 'dont do it, man. Start with 2...always start with Assassin's Creed 2!!!

So, I've been warned. God help me. Gonna see what all the fuss is about. Going in; I may not make it out. tell my mom I love her....

AC2 is definitely the best of the bunch, every game after is either okay or meh in my opinion.

For me, I think it might be the Demon Souls series, I might end up starting with Bloodborn on PS4.

Star Wars knights of the old republic, tried to get into it, but sadly don't have the time for it.

Oh... Deja vu, I feel like I've seen this thread before

:lol

Anyway, I don't think there is a series I missed that I want to play, but... I'd love to play Resident Evil 3.5
I know maybe it doesn't count, its just an old concept of RE4 but I love how it looks, and I will always wonder what would've happened if capcom didn't change it

LOL, when I created this thread I was thinking, 'wait did I do this before?'

Sorry all, off my rocker today!

I've tried twice to get into Witcher 1. Its fun and all, but just didn't hold me....

Had trouble getting into The Witcher also...

Series I've missed are Metal Gear, Xenogears/saga, Final Fantasy, Assassins Creed, and Halo 3+... quit playing after 2 pissed me off.

AC2 is funny for me - (and I know I've said this elsewhere, but I'm not worried about it being remembered) - I've never liked a game so much that gave me ZERO desire to play any other game in the franchise.

I skipped AC1, since I'd heard a lot of kinks were ironed out. I played 2, had a lot of fun, but when it came time to play 3 I just didn't want to - at all. The story didn't grab me, and the gameplay was fun but... I don't know. I played AC2 and probably will never play another AC game.

As for the topic at hand... none, I guess? It sounds obvious, I guess, but every series I've been interested in, I've played. A better / tougher question for me would be what series do you wish you liked, but just couldn't get into? To which I'd probably have a lot of answers, number one most likely being Zelda.

The Gamestop dude is wrong.....well I guess you could play number 1 as a flashback ....but it would be hard to go back to the much more limited number 1 after playing 2.
To be clear ...and trying to keep spoilers to a minimum, AC: Revelations (4th major game in series) connects Ezio (AC2's lead) with Altair (AC1's lead) ....the impact of that will be zero if you haven't played number 1 :)

There are quite a few for me, such as the Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Hitman, Gears of War, Halo & the Witcher series but I can't say for sure if I regret not playing them as I well, haven't gotten around to actually play them.

One series I did shrug off and gave it another go was the Final Fantasy series. I first beat FFVII in 2004, FFX in 2005 and X-2 in 2007. I deeply regretted not getting into Final Fantasy earlier, it's simply some of the greatest, most well made games I've ever played. I have VII and IX in my backlog and would got trough the rest of the main series in the future.

Missed Resident Evil 4 onwards, Metal Gear 2 onwards, AC 2 onwards, DMC altogether, Ninja Gaiden on newer consoles, Metroid, Zelda, Last Mario game I played in full was on the SNES so that too :)

I doubt you're missing much. :lol

Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Call of Duty (only played MW2) Killzone.

Wanted to get into all of them (except CoD really) but just didn't have the motivation, or something else I was interested came along and took the spotlight.

Metal Gear & Final Fantasy

Metal Gear was too hard to play, so I gave up.

FF was boring to me... liked everything BUT the game play.
