Batman & Robin pisses me off because it's got so much good stuff going for it, in terms of potential. Clooney as Batman was inspired casting, I don't care what anyone says, and when you have a story as compelling as Heart Of Ice, it's hard to see how that could be a bad thing. Hell, even Schwarzenegger was okay; a buddy of mine and I were talking about it, and he brought up a good point; Freeze could've been one of Schwarzenegger's most memorable roles, had they just treated him like an actor, but, instead, it seems like the dumbass ****ing writers wanted him to "be Arnie" and "make a bunch of ice puns." You could've cut the entire Alfred's dying/niece Batsilverstone storyline, and there was no reason to treat Bane the way they treated him.

Hell, the Poison Ivy angle could've been interesting with the right twist.

I actually agree Batfan.

Unfortunately, the final cut was the culmination of multiple opposing forces putting the last nail in the coffin for the franchise. All that hard work Michael Uslin put in for over a decade prior to 89.. dashed to pieces.

It wasn't ALL Schumacher's fault really. The studio always knows better apparently. Once the wind changes, so do they - & their buttholes tighten when they realize unless they ride the next wave, they're missing out on revenue. Dark, family friendly, serious, funny, less like the TV show - more, why do you think DC / WB gets all the **** flung at them, that they do? :lol

Empire Magazine did a readers poll of 301 Greatest Movies of "All Time" and after hundreds of thousands of votes, The Dark Knight came in 3rd behind Empire Strikes Back #1, and The Godfather #2.
:)

Tough to rank the films, but i would go
TDK
BB
TDKR
66
89
Returns
43

Empire must not have a lot of readers. :lol

Like I said it was hundreds of thousands of votes they got. However i wish they showed how many votes each got it would have given it a better perspective.

89 Batman ranked #288.

I refuse to believe they received hundreds of thousands of votes.

yah, doing a poll like this sets it up for anyone who disagrees with the poll will probably think that. IMDB shows how many people rank the movies on their site and you can see that hundreds of thousands of people ranked the movies, but still certain people can't grasp that either.

In the end it doesn't really matter. We all have our own tastes.

Thank you, Captain Obvious.

Tho you forgot to add that general moviegoer's taste doesn't matter either.

All Riddick said to you was "great list, I wholeheartedly agree. Lets be friends" and you go and do him bad like that.

Anyway, in the end, Empire's top 3 list is wrong. Their editors just chose the cliched choices of the day to make for an attention getting header (and besides, they're Brits). Surprised they didn't have Godfather Part II as #1 since it undoubtably the best movie of all time.*
