Oh well that's interesting. Thanks! I guess I'll just stick to using that as a reference, but not think of it as a specific term, just like I did when Gohan and Krillin got their potential unlocked on Namek. I'd rather use full potential unlocked, but that doesn't seem to catch on!

Freakin awesome picture Blood!

Yeah I still think Blood outdisplays everyone else so far.

You've got no marvel or batman though, especially the latter is a notch down.:p

Nope, i watched some super heroes stuff but i just don't feel the need to immortalize that :dunno

@ Bane I think the term Mystic is exactly the same thing as Trunks describing Vegeta as ascended. In terms of actual saiyan forms, it's not a true title. I could be wrong though, I don't have the original source anymore, could be a fake source. But that's what I read and it does make sense to me. Normal - Super (1-3) - Ultimate. And it's clearly why Gohan can't be called a ssj 4 seeing as some of his abilities are due to non-race specific training.

@Blood That's okay, I'll immortalise Batman for the both of us.:1-1::lol Any other youth stuff you'd want to add, maybe lacking any good merchandise currently?

Actually, does anybody have a particular franchise they'd really wish had tamashii-eque figures but don't exist? And don't have any good merchandising substitute?

:goodpost:

I like to see characters from Astroboy, Speed Racer and (of course) orbital frames from "Zone of the Enders" in lines as the Robot Spirits, Super Robot Chogokin or S.H.Figuarts (despite the fact that there are in other brands).

@Orbital Frame You're right! He just has a bit more muscular body and neck, and his hair got more rigid. Awesome hybrid! I now just rather have SSJ2 Vegeta from Battle of Gods.

Thanks, now I know that I must do friend.

@Killian: Thanks for the clarification and links.

@blood: Amazing collection man! I love the Gundams.

^ Speed Racer could be pretty interesting considering Tamashii did some vehicles like the Double Chaser before. I certainly wouldn't say no to a Mach 5 complete with gadgets, and a fully articulated Speed Racer.

Oh yeah that's how I see it. Before the SSJ3 transformation, there was just Super Saiyan and pushing the form beyond that. No numbers. Even the characters just use it as a reference point- "This is what is known as a Super Saiyan that has ascended past a Super Saiyan, or you could just call it a Super Saiyan 2. And this is to go even further beyond."

I can't really afford anything other than these Dragon Ball figuarts, but would make an exception for Metal Gear Solid by Tamashii! There's not a decent alternative out there in my opinion. The Play Arts Kai versions look like mutated zombies! Some Batman ones look pretty good, but a lot of them got messed up proportions and bad paint jobs. I would love to see them tackle DC and Marvel.

Edit: What TBlake said! Play arts Kai seem to look worse and worse, the prices are ridiculously getting more expensive.

@Bane Play Arts Kai does tackle DC with their own designs, the Variant line, I find some of them freakin awesome, and some of them really dumb.

Chrono Trigger, Castlevania, StarFox (i need an Arwing replica in my life), Marvel/DC Universe (where the hell is my Injustice Batman, Tamashii?), perhaps dabble into Street Fighter. But really they need to speed up the process & expand upon the licenses they already have, such as BlazBlue, Pokémon, Injustice, etc.

Injustice is slated for the Fall Crisis.

Imo they should mostly speed up DBZ and Pokemon.:lol And make Mass Effect.

Figma just posted this, looks pretty good actually.

I'm not that much a fan of the movies, but I'm really inclined to put AMS2 MAFEX Spider-man, that Cap and the Figuarts Iron Man and War Machine together.

But I'm probably not prepared to lay down the money I think.

Agreed. I always felt like Gohans SS2 transformation was really just the unlocking of his hidden potential, which made sense based on his previous power level spikes in the series. But the Buu Saga kind of messed things up by arbitrarily making a SS3 level and letting both Goku and Vegeta become SS2s. Also, Gohan potential was again "unlocked" by Grand Kai. Then you have kid Goten and kid Trunks easily becoming Super Saiyans. The whole super saiyan concept and the idea of unlocking one's potential was incredibly cheapened. Rather than introducing another SS form, they should have introduced some new techmiques that Goku might have learned in the otherworld and that the Kais could have taught the rest of the Z fighters like the fusion technique.

How about the Spiderman and Xmen animated series of the 90s?

I think there's also a Figma Thor & Hulk in the works, too

The ascended super siayan thing is confusing too. When vegeta "ascends", picollo refers to it as transforming. IMO, I think a better term for it is basically mastering the SS1 form to it's full extent

How about the Spiderman and Xmen animated series of the 90s?

Dude, I will KILL for ANY quality figure line-up of the 90s X-men.

I will effing murder for it.XD Strangle puppies in pink unicorn outfits. It's just not gonna happen though. It's too old now and X-men's been renewed too much. Ugh, annoys me to death. I think the spider-man TAS is properly representable with what's out there. The whole reason I even consdier putting that figma cap next to MAFEX ams2 and the figuarts Iron Man is solely because of that show so you hit the nail bud.:lol

@KPman These are the remnants of what was once a pretty big marvel collection:

(No I never dust the top of my dvd case.:lol)

HA! I see that Iron Man! You were tempted by the new Marvel Legends too! I think that Spider-man you have is the closest to the show, but if Tamashii did it they'd have the clean articulation with the bright colors. The bright colors are what make it feel like the shows/comics. I think Silver Surfer could have been as good as X-Men and Spider-man TAS if it wasn't cancelled. This collection is the only one that I could relate to of the ones that were just posted. The Superhero cartoons in the 90's were the only shows I watched, and after they moved to cable, that's when I stopped watching TV. I think Breaking Bad was the only show I followed since the Batman/Superman Adventures. There was only one TV and I had other siblings, so that might also have been a factor! Great collection! The Wolverine/Sabertooth display is my favorite!

I was tempted by the figma Avengers, but I don't like the costumes and except for the first Iron Man, I wasn't a fan of their movies. I just wanted great figures though, but I'm going to regret it, since those depictions mean nothing to me. I'm still so tempted though! Same with the MAFEX ASM2 figure, although I actually like the costume. However, if I'm paying this much I want a comic book looking one, because it will really pop on my shelf, and that's the character I love. That's why these DBZ figures look so good. Then again, it's close enough...............

@KPman Yep that's how I feel. It's not like every time we work out and gain muscle mass, we call ourselves different names. I'm Super Bane, because I got bigger biceps. Oh now I got bigger pecs, biceps, and quadraceps, so I'm Super Bane grade 2. Now I increased my abdominal strength and leg flexibility, but fatigued from working out so much, so I'm Super imperfect Bane. It's silly.
