It is amazing. At first I was bummed that mine didn't look like that, but after looking at the pics again a day later, I still love it, but not in a "it's better than the original paint" kind of way, just in a "it's different an awesome" way, and I like my original paint job just as much. They are totally different feels for the statue, which is cool, opposed to most of the smaller touch up paint jobs or just getting rid of the orange glow.

Thank you all for the compliments. The project was fun and exciting especially coming up with ideas and imagining the outcome of the statue. I had the idea of putting in LED for the eyes, but couldn't find any reference of Sauron glowing eyes. Taking out the glowing lava was something I wanted because I want to create that affect with lighting. I will post some high quality pictures soon.

How many hours did this take from start to finish? Unless I missed it...

I think it is a tad on the "too shiny" side, but still looks nice regardless.

Base looks slick.
*saves youtube vid to future project reference*

I still wish this was done without the lava effect but without question this is a centerpiece of any collection. If I could only own one item, this would be it.

I feel the same way. Small toss up between this and my bowen thanos statue, but that's only because thanks has sentimentak vakue to me based solely on who gave it to me.

All 3 looks amazing Fritz. I'm debating if I should get the Witch King. It will come down to if I have the room for it.

Damn good shot frank!

Thanks! In hindsight I probably would have installed 16" shelves instead of 12" shelves but at the time it seemed like it would be enough. :lol

They look great together Fritz.....i was so close to getting the rider but the legs developing cracks stopped me..... very sad.
Anyway very nice

The transformation on mine has begun. Although this will be a slow process as I'm just learning as I go. It'll either turn out acceptable or it'll be a "how not to do it" statue to learn from in the future. This is more of an undertaking then I thought it was going to be.

Good luck mate. All these awesome repaints are inspiring me to have a crack at it myself, the only problem is that I seem to have no discernible painting skills what so ever :lol.

Sharpnels Sauron is perfect IMO, it looks like he stepped right off the screen.

Very brave indeed, I'm sure it will be an improvement even if it doesn't turn out quite as you plan. You will no doubt be taking care and putting a bit of pride into it so it has to be better really..

For those of you that repainted this, did you remove the cape or just work around it? Obviously Cartman5579 and sharpnel had the cape removed but how about the others?
