Wow... what could have been. :ohbfrank:

Yeah, they dropped the ball on this one. This is all I wanted:

Robocop 1 & 2
1/4 Scale
Full (or mostly) Diecast
Weller headsculpt
No BS

Maybe isn't time to own a Robocop figure yet... the ultimate collectable will come one day.

Still want this- wait for in hand pics..I have to see how nice the "metal" look is. Diecast would have been much better....however I won't judge till I see alot more..

It's not just the '3', it's the accessories and weapons too. No matter how we dissect it, this is a straight up Robocop 3 release for $500 to $600 (maybe more depending on shipping).

People hate Robocop 3, I sort of got the idea that Enterbay kind of got that and felt the same the way they teased the figure . . . until the very end. His big *** jet pack is from Robocop 3. His machine gun arm is from Robocop 3. His Battle Damage is from Robocop 3. His headsculpt/facesculpt is Burke. That's more than half the accessories right there. That's the majority.

Sure, people are going to say, "meh, I'll just keep all the Robocop 3 stuff in the box", but that doesn't change the fact that you just paid $500+ for a Robocop 3 figure. Know what I mean? You're essentially paying more for filler. Dropping the Burke head, jetpack and interchangable chest alone from R&D and production would drop the price down significantly.

What would you have rather had, Original Robocop for $380-$400 (T-1000 sparse, no interchangeable gimmicks) or Robocop 3 for $500 to $600?

Sure this is smaller at 1/6, but it seems just as good, if not better to me (and cheaper). Scale aside, it seems to have the same presence. You could get two of the Hot Toys (covering both clean and ED-209 damaged looks) for the price of an Enterbay Robocop 3.

I suppose I can understand your reasoning more because you A) aren't really big on 1:4 scale and B) have more self-discipline than I do. And those points in combination with what you've outlined in your post above.

Myself though, since I have bought into 1:4 scale, and I have zero self discipline when it comes to my favourite cyborg licenses, I see this as probably the only chance for years to come to get a high-end 1:4 scale Robocop. Regardless of what HT may do better (i.e - being wholly based on the original film), I see a figure here that can still look pretty damn good on the shelf.

If its a case of either/or, yeah, buy HT based on your reasoning. But if not, why not buy this aswell.

All that said I'm pleased that, if I do buy this, that's me done for 1:4 scale for quite a while. Even if Hot Toys show their Police Shootout T-800 it'll be up to or over a year off. And with Hot Toys its just their Robocop figures so far for 2014. Likewise even if they show Batman Returns or something its gonna be up to or over a year after that initial reveal before they actually come out. So I'm anticipating getting a much needed gap in purchasing this year. Really looking forward to it.

The good prt for me is, no 1/4 so far, so no pain at all. I m wondering what would make me break the 1/6 barrier and enter 1/4. Robocop was tempting me to push the button but since this is not robo 1, i will crawl back into my hole ;) ... Preeeeeecious ! ...

I'd sooner buy a Robocop with a cartoon/animated license than Robocop 3.

Weller face plates or not (if the final product even has those :lol), seeing the Robocop 3 title, Robocop 3 backgrounds, and Robocop 3 specific look and gear leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Taints the release in my opinion.

I don't hate Burke and I do think that unmasked portrait is great, but I just have to ask . . . why? Robocop 3 blows.

Oh come on. You get a very nice Robocop figure out of this if you add the PW mouthplate and leave off the jetpack. This is just getting silly now. So what if the box says Robocop 3.

:goodpost:

I totally agree. The quality of this is fantastic, just because there is a number in the title dosen't mean it isn't worth every penny.

After checking all the available pictures, neither EB nor HT armor is perfect but I have come to this conclusions (detail and accuracy oriented):

-EB has the size, the sharpness and policromatic paint scheme. Many rivets are missing, details and forms are wrong or nor correctly positioned, some shapes are off.

-HT is much more accurate than EB, they got all the forms, angles, little details going on the oroginal Rob Bottin design. A lot of rivets are missing. Paint seems to be well done but not as impressive as EB. Biggest issue is they produced it in metal casted metal and it is not as sharp as plastic, due to production issues rivets are soft and some are not even there. Plus the joints between the parts are much bigger and noticeable.

Since I'm very accuracy oriented, either I get the HT one, add the rivets, fill the gaps and repaint or I buy the EB to correct a lot of details, plus having to repaint all armor. Not an easy choice

It's called get the Hot Toys Robocop! Although I'm sure their plan is to release the first one and then do Robocop 2 with a Weller sculpt and release Cain eventually.

EB Robo's helmet (shape) is more accurate than HT's as well. Good point on the details not being as sharp due to the die-cast. I might end up getting both of these though!

I'm starting to think guys that Enterbay really did try and get this to be a Robocop from the first movie but their hands were tied. If you look at the battle damage on the chest plate its straight from Robocop 2 where he fights Cain. This extra gift of the battle damaged helmet from 2, makes it look like they have tried to bring out a figure that is a mixture from all 3 films. Enterbay have said that the paint will change in color depending on lighting, I think this thing has potential to look amazing.

Preview by 异性 from China,

Murphy HS - Robocop 3, overall acceptable, better than offical photo
2 exchangable mouth - one of them is following Robocop 1
Special gift - Robocop 2 helmet, not able to put murphy HS into in by design
Jet Pack - Not bad, a bit loose but seem is by designed to allow easier to be weared
BD chest plate - not as detailed as expected, can;t compared with 3A, just so so
Arm Gun - small issue, with some glue outside
Remote control - with battery inserted
6 palms
Battery is at back body, ensure switch at back body and remote control is switch on
Head seem turn more to right, but able to re-plug the head to make it turn left and right
Sound effect - walking, and 3 murphy statement
Holster can be opened and closed, but seem the front part will not be oopened
Be careful when remove jet pack from body
Setup battery, remove HS, and Chest plate back and front
It is a bit difficult to plug chest plate back to body, need a bit patient
Just a sneak preview

QC is acceptable, a lot small and minor issue.
Overall, average
