Enterbay - 1/4 scale RoboCop 3

I wanna play a little game, try and prove if I'm right that the mouths could belong to anyone.



These are taken from Robocop, Robocop 2 and Robocop 3. Quickly, which face belongs to who, Burke or Weller. I made sure to get different angles from different films to make it fair, including black and whites and profiles. Not as easy as say, the Batman actors.

Think I will stick with my sideshow pf. I love the pf and the price has put me off this, plus unfortunately I just can't see the gimmicks (as cool as some of them maybe) being reliable.

Fair play to Enterbay for aiming so high with this piece, I do hope when it lands with people it is off da chain cool and reliable.

They are all kinda low res but these are my guesses:

You can also tell by the shape of the lips. Weller's were more curved compared to Burke's.

The only one that looks like Weller is G. The rest look more like Burke to me.

I dunno lads. Just letting the '3' at the end of Robocop put you off such a great looking figure which does have at least one Weller mouth. At this point the only thing that makes me pause is the possibility of QC issues and the price.

It's not just the '3', it's the accessories and weapons too. No matter how we dissect it, this is a straight up Robocop 3 release for $500 to $600 (maybe more depending on shipping).

People hate Robocop 3, I sort of got the idea that Enterbay kind of got that and felt the same the way they teased the figure . . . until the very end. His big *** jet pack is from Robocop 3. His machine gun arm is from Robocop 3. His Battle Damage is from Robocop 3. His headsculpt/facesculpt is Burke. That's more than half the accessories right there. That's the majority.

Sure, people are going to say, "meh, I'll just keep all the Robocop 3 stuff in the box", but that doesn't change the fact that you just paid $500+ for a Robocop 3 figure. Know what I mean? You're essentially paying more for filler. Dropping the Burke head, jetpack and interchangable chest alone from R&D and production would drop the price down significantly.

What would you have rather had, Original Robocop for $380-$400 (T-1000 sparse, no interchangeable gimmicks) or Robocop 3 for $500 to $600?

Sure this is smaller at 1/6, but it seems just as good, if not better to me (and cheaper). Scale aside, it seems to have the same presence. You could get two of the Hot Toys (covering both clean and ED-209 damaged looks) for the price of an Enterbay Robocop 3.

I totally agree.

All the things that seemed to be unnecessarily driving up the price just feel even more off putting now.

How many people are going to display it with the Burke head? The jet pack? Like difabio was saying, I'm sure a robocop minus the third film specific accessories but at a cheaper price is way more appealing to most than what we are actually getting.

It's not even like you have any opportunity to subsidise the cost by selling the stuff you don't need it won't use. There won't be a market for it and who will want to purchase an unmasked Burke head to sit in the box next to the other one they aren't using? (Insert I'd buy that for a dollar joke - oh wait wrong film)

Weller have fuller lips than Burke. Though it does seem kinda hard to differentiate from those pics. It seems 2 of the mouth plates are Weller, while the other one is Burke. EB must have wanna cover their grounds completely, that way fans of robocop 1 - 3 (if there's even any ) will have no choice but to buy this.

Could always sell off those parts (granted you won't get much for 1/4 scale parts compared to 1/6) and throw away they box. And when someone comes around to see your collection, tell em in advance that that's a robocop 1/4 scale figure.

If the qc is good, I think I might wanna pick this up. But that Burke sculpt is hideous. Pun intended.

So HT must have the Robocop and RC2 license- EB had to settle for 3. I love it still but yeah the jetpack is worthless because who wants that on display? It screams.....Robocop 3!

That sucks, because in the youtube link i posted you can clearly hear it's Weller.. another deception from Enterbay if that's the case..

It might be too early to say, but maybe this started out as the original 1987 Robocop with Weller voice, barebones accessories, etc. in 2011,

But maybe by 2012, 2013 they had to change their plans, i.e. create a Robocop 3 Robo. Remember, this figure was in development in 2011 with a 1987 "ROBOCOP" title announcement. It was alteast 3 years of teasers. It wasn't until just 2 months ago however that they decided to show the Jetpack.

The purple sheen they were bragging about a few years back is completely non-existent now in the final product pics. Maybe everything had to be changed to be Robocop 3, voice and lines included.

Yup my guess is this all started with the hopes of getting the License for 1 or 2. Then plans had to change when they couldn't.

This is pretty much what I've been wanting ever since I saw this release. I wonder if it's not too late for Enterbay to release an alternative version for a lower price?
