Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Seriously. How epic is this cape!

It does look lovely. THe Jor-El cape is also quite nice, one of their best capes IMO
Holy ***** Vodoun! That's amazing! If you had that picture in widescreen, it would be my wallpaper forever! Excellent!!!
That's not by Vodoun...that pic is by Plastic Enemies
Yeah and his capes are super cheap too....oh wait.

:lol yea I had originally wanted one but looking at the figure now, I think a little bit of water treatment on the shoulders will help it lay flatter. Plus, if you make the cape darker, then you'll need to make the boots darker as well

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

damn, this figure being taller than DX13 and the Reeve superman has me being nit-picky. I hope HT decided to use extended footpegs that can be swapped out for normal ones.

None the less, I will be picking this figure up as I really liked the movie and this figure is a great representation

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I can't get over how good this looks, I haven't seen one bad photo yet. I can't wait to see Batfleck and Wonder Woman now and get their figures which will hopefully be in scale.

Awe, I forgot about Wonder Woman. Definitely would love to add that to the Batfleck/Superman group. One need only glance at your avatar to get excited :naughty. She's gorgeous.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

That's your problem. It's not a figure of Cavill, it's a figure of Cavill's portrayal of Superman in Man of Steel. Who I believe was made to look quite a bit taller, using shooting techniques and VFX in order to make Superman appear more frightening and powerhouse-esque. Therefore, the fact that he's taller than Bale's Batman IS accurate, because you're not paying for a likeness of the actor, you're paying for the likeness of the actor PLAYING the part of Kal-El.

If reality was such a huge concern, then Bane would be significantly shorter than the DX12, due to the fact that Tom Hardy is nearly half a foot shorter than Christian Bale, but he's not. In the film, he was shot to be taller and stronger and more physically dominating and therefore, his figure is larger in height than the actor because that is the way he appeared in the film and these figures are in fact a representation of a character portrayed in a film and not the actor themselves.

:goodpost:

Bane looked about the same height as bale in DKR, they did a very good job making him look taller than he is. I go for movie accurate.

As i showed before in pictures, and re watching the film - Cavill is by no means excessively tall. He looked 6'1-6'2 in the films. If they tried to make him look taller than that, they failed.

I am very happy with the figure, i don't want to come off like its a bad figure cause its not, its spot on pretty much on everything else.

Just sucks he is going to tower over reeves, bale, pretty much everyone in the DC world from Hot Toys. An inch is a pretty noticeable difference.

If someone would just measure the damn thing we can lay it to rest, and this is the final so its not like its changing or anything, I'm just really curious.

I believe OMG said he is just shy of 13 inches. Like real close to 13.

My favorite picture so far. :clap :clap

Again, beautiful! :rock

I don't know if its already been posted here, but I just notice that on SSC website, this has officially changed from a 1st quarter release to a January release. Considering its out abroad, I know it can be assumed SSC would be shipping in Jan, but I hope this makes it official.

I hope they offer him early to since my final flex is 2/5/14. January would be wonderful!

I love all the pics!

:exactly: :hi5:

Damn! For the first time, I'm actually regretting using Sideshow points on this. Was originally ecstatic that I'm getting this for $130 with Sideshow points, but now I wished I would have applied that to Robocop or the Crow cause I was tempted this morning to buy this from Timcent so I can have this by Xmas.

This went beyond my expectations.
This figure is a beast!

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Epic for sure! But if i had to nitpick, it'd be the knees. There's something funky bout those double jointed knees (at least it looks double jointed). It just doesnt look natural when it's bent.

:exactly: Wasn't considering adding this guy to my collection even though I enjoyed the movie, etc.....but now, man, I'm impressed by the pictures so far. Hot Toys really nailed this :rock

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Maybe they will release a second version; this time with a Christopher Reeve cameo headsculpt.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Seems to be one of the most well received HT figure based on pictures alone in a long time. I'm happy to see everyone so pleased with it.

I think it looks great and can't wait to add it to my collection!
