Really? People are so worried about the empty cowl ??? ... If some day I buy this figure I'll display it as Batman, which makes the empty cowl useless

Nice to have options.

Why not just switch things up every so often. With and without cowl.

:lecture

Sure that's an option. But I'm a bit lazy about changing hands and heads. changing hands is speacially hard in some figures. I'm not sure about this one.

I was never able to change hands on the EB Batman, or even bend the wrists. I'm both lazy and chicken :lol

Aha! The truth comes out! :lol

I've done both countless times on the EB figure. :peace

Great shots but...

This is the first time I've seen the ab straps futzed nicely under the chest armor with the beer belly still visible. :(

You excited son?

Truthfully, not as much as if it was the DX13. You can bet I'll be excited when that box comes through the door though. It'll probably put me back into a Batman mood and that'll in turn feed the batmobile mood. After that I expect I'll take it for granted for awhile until the next time I'm in a Batman mood when it'll feel fresh again. I have cycles like this.

I think Bale's suit was actually like that though

We've had this conversation before but, although it may have been "kinda" like that in some positions (like the DVD cover), it was more of a "roll" or "wrinkle" than just pushing out like I described.

More importantly, in some cases "screen accuracy" isn't as important as 'looks good on the shelf'. If mine has a stomach that pushes out like that, it will not look good to my eye. It does not look heroic.

What I mean when I refer to a "beer belly" or "paunch":

:lol

I think it can be mitigated by futzing, ab cruching, and manipulating the fabric from bunching underneath. At least that's what I'm hoping. But Dracula is the one who took the pic himself so if he doesn't see it...

It could also be the way the ab plates aren't fully flat, but curved on the edges like on the DX12. The curvature along with how the lighting is hitting the plates may give the abdominal area a sense of depth which is even more magnified at this scale. Just throwing it out there. :dunno

What if that actually happened as someone was futzing the figure?

I'd leave my house, that's for sure.

The problem is that some figures clearly don't show the problem (Rory's for one), so it seems more likely to be the former than the latter.

The question is: Is it a question of futzing or QC.

This is a video from Roscoe0583 (I think he's a board member?)

At around the 14:18 mark, from the close up of the ab area the bottom plates do seem angled downward. It looks like a slight paunch straight on and at a 45 degree turn. But when the reviewer shows a side view, it's barely noticeable at all to me.

I'm sure once we have it in hand, it'll be a non-issue.

I have tried futzing mine but can't seem to get rid of it. Might need more work but I got frustrated and gave up. In saying that, it really isn't that bad. He doesn't look fat or anything (not to me anyway), and it doesn't really detract from the figure for me. It would just look better if it was a little slimmer in the area, like my DX12.

And right after I posted my spiel about it being a non issue. :lol
Can you post some pics? I'm sure it isn't that bad.
