What kind of paint did you use adolfo? Also, are you planning on adding the "lava effect" back on at some point or are you leaving it as is?

I will not add lava effect...like I said before unless I have a very specific lighting to show the lava effect at its glory I wont do it ...If I did do it I would used Jerry V's painting as a reference...With this piece I repainted I could have yellow or orange lighting from the bottom and the reflecting "lava Glow would be created naturally on the metallic sheen on this repainted statue not by SS paint factory...believe me I thought about. Lighting and display angles are key to the SS paint job to do this great piece any justice ..I used a flat black acrylic, satin varnish for the leather, Gold leaf paint for the ring and silver leaf(liquid leaf) the silver/metal paint is most important to create that silver metallic look, otherwise if you dry brush over the SS paint job you will darken as well as help remove the metallic look. it basically will not look as good. The metal paint sticks very well to the piece and dries very fast, and the vapors are killer...use in a ventilated area and was partially the reason why I did one section at a time

While the sculpt is good I have never liked the pose, ugh.......The orange glow was never a big hit either, I am a bit miffed at the overall statue.

I always questioned the orange glow and said from the day I ordered it that I might repaint it and i am happy with the result...as for the pose ...It's freakin awesome and shows the majestic confidence that Sauron had. I love the pose

I can't say this is the best repaint I ever did but damn sure it was the biggest repaint I ever did...I could see quite a few(maybe even those from these statue forums) repainting this for some reason. I'm just trying to show and reason what I know and what was passed on to me long ago and why I did this ...I reflected alot while painting this thinking about my youth and the models I've built and how I learned to do em...Aurora came to mind quite a few times...I loved their stuff

Hmmm, glad the orange glow is gone but that pose, to feminine, it does not say Dark Lord, it reminds me of a SEC marching band leader. I like the darker hue to his armor as it is just too shiny for a evil presence.

This piece especially with the SS paint job was made for low lighting

Adolfo, this looks outstanding. Can you provide exact details on the paints you used? Brands and such.
