Just finished up watching season 2 of "Game of Thrones" yesterday as well. This season definately made more sense to me than the first as I found myself getting lost plenty of times in season one with all the different wannabe kings etc. and all the different families...just so much to take in. The second season just brought it all together for me and inspired me to watch the first season over again now that I know what is going on and know all the characters really well.
I do have to admit much of the over use of dialogue almost makes "Game of Thrones" feel like a soap opera at times...and I hate how they wait until the last few minutes of each episode until something seriously brutal and wicked happens...just to tease the viewer into thinking the next episode will pick up right where the one before left off only to once again be introduced into more talking yada yada.
Still I do love this show and man that last episode at the ending of season 2 *SPOILER ALERT" with the White walker on the horse with those wicked blue eyes bright white hair and scream! That had to be one of the most out of this world characters I have ever seen on screen before...cgi or not that was amazing.
Man this series is only going to get better as the upcoming seasons arise.
Ive said the same thing to my wife
It can get confusing to a point. I could never read the books and keep up with everyone.

Game of thrones doesn't have drama so exaggerated to the pointof being silly...so I don't see what it shares with soap operas.
the comparison for me has just been the nonstop "who' gonna stab who in back?" drama that really is the base of the series.
The quality is much higher than daytime soaps, but overall I can definitely see the relation.

Haven't watched this in years, still holds up pretty well. Maybe I'll finally revisit the sequel now. Haven't seen that one since I walked out of the theater I hated it so bad at the time.
