Hey all, just wondering if any of you all like to use Instagram for posting photos of your Sideshow Joes & Cobras.

If so, I'd like to follow you and see what ya post!
I'm pretty much dedicating my entire Instagram to posting only Sideshow/Hot Toys/1:6 stuff.

Search: thechadlawless

on Instagram and Twitter to find me.

A buddy of mine was twisting my arm the other day about getting on it. We're both flickr whores from hell, but he uses it for his artwork as well.

New pics up- Coulson, RockNRoll and Scarlett, all outdoors.

thechadlawless on Instagram.

Anyone else want to share their username on Instagram?

Instagram is like Twitter, but with photos instead of words/ideas/links/news.

You take pics and share them. I'm committing my thread almost exclusively to 1:6 figure photos.

It's a free app in your App Store.

Instagram sucks. It's just wasted potential of artists. There are some really good things there from talented people, but it just manages to get drown out by the whole "Facebook friend" trend type stuff. It's not about how good you are, it's more about "how many friends you have"

I see both sides.

Instagram and photography apps have definitely lowered the talent bar when it comes to photography, from the standpoint of people making shots with special effects.

Still, a lot of people want to make interesting pictures.

It takes great talent to make a great picture, but now anyone can try and make an interesting one and share it with the world.

I don't see how people have a problem with it. It's to see pics of all kinds taken by average people. Sometimes the picture is more interesting than how well it was shot. The picture is there, no matter how many likes or followers get.

It's no different than someone taking pictures of their newest doll and posting them on this board. Some pics look great, some look like complete ****. :dunno

As for the filters, I dig em. And you don't, don't to use em.

I'm out of the social media loop, no Twitter, Facebook or instagram :dunno

I do have an email address though :lol

Not diggin the square crop "pan & scan" look I have to give my images, but I can see why people dig this thing. Its a way for folks to show off the things around their life the way they see them.

Anyone who's really into actual photography probably isn't going to rely on Instagram to showcase their work anyway. Not with all the other photo sites out there for that. Its just a novelty really in that its merely for fun. Millions of people have camera phones, and those people take pictures. Instagram just gives them a platform to share those pictures with the world.

I dont even know what instagram is :lol

You may have a doppleganger then. :panic:

Mando, I agree on the "square cropped picture" mandate. I think that Instagram is supposed to be a sort of throwback to simple square-shaped photos of old (which explains lots of the filters and the app's icon).

For those of us who like to think cinematically in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio, this is definitely an obstacle.
